Chapter Six: The Night Before

He slithered through the manor effortlessly. After all, he knew this estate better than he'd ever like to admit. By this late hour they should all be well asleep, but no? He detected the heavy aroma of alcohol and grinned.

What a perfect night this has become, made much easier by the lack of control humans have once they're intoxicated. Not that he doubted his skills in seduction; especially when it came to that idiot Mey-Rin. His first step was accomplished and Nathaniel's tutor lay cold on the ground this rainy evening and all that was left was to give Mey-Rin what she's always wanted from him.

He needed some entertainment, now that Elizabeth no longer wanted his company within the manor. Some one would be arriving that could easily detect his presence despite the counters he's set to keep himself hidden. The loop-hole in demonic power he had used worked well against Claude but it wasn't that strong of a magic trick against her.

The three bumbling servants were off to bed and to his surprise, so was the intoxicated head of the house. It intrigued him so much to see Elizabeth marinated. Her cheeks stained with a reddish blush, her large green eyes jaded and glassy. Her left hand had her dress bunched up to her thigh and she was barefoot. She stumbled out of the kitchen and wobbled up the stairs giggling to herself every time she tripped without holding on to the railing. This had to have been the first time Elizabeth had ever consumed this much to drink. Being the woman that hated seeing Ciel casually drink a glass of brandy from time to time. Her father had an avid drinking habit so her distaste for the liquid was well understood.

His desire was torn now, he didn't come here for Elizabeth. Never thinking he'd ever say this, He came for Mey-rin. But he couldn't help but follow the swinging mass of long blonde curls, her wavering hips as she made her way to her room. She smelled of wine and liquor and Sebastian gave into his want; after all he had nothing to loose.

She walked into her bathroom and splashed some water on her porcelain face. Sebastian was amused by her attempts to compose herself. He could tell she couldn't think through the fog in her mind and he wanted to enjoy it while he could. She walked into her closet and slipped out of her dress she wore that day. Peeling off her corset, with precision that surprised Sebastian, considering her mental state, she walked over to her wardrobe of silk gowns. Sebastian's eyes trailed up the back of her petite caves, past her thighs to her small, plump butt and rounded hips. If he was in his human form he'd be licking his lips at the sight of her nude flesh. She reached up to take a gown from her hanger, lifting onto the tips of her toes so that she could reach. His eyes wandered to the pale expanse of flesh wrapped over her breasts, that curved so perfectly with her rib cage and bounced slightly as she came down to the backs of her heels. The only time he'd ever seen Elizabeth nude was the night he took Ciel from her.

He wanted to see the Elizabeth Ciel saw, the Elizabeth Alois craved and men would kill to have.

He watched her slender form take her night gown out of her closet and drape it over her petite body. The thin, light blue fabric hugged her curves and stopped at about her mid thigh; not typically a gown you'd see Elizabeth wear. She patted her right hand over her mouth in a dreary yawn and crawled haphazardly into bed.

One thing demons possessed was the ability of empathetic persuasion and right now Sebastian had a grand excuse to use it. His entire being was burning in this lustful desire for Elizabeth. A tortured soul she was now, and so much did he want to devour her.

"You will leave Elizabeth be." How simple and yet permanent of an order Ciel intended.

Sebastian wanted her almost as much as he wanted Nathaniel, and Ciel knew through her process of keeping her son safe she would become as hardened and broken as he was. Meaning more appetizing for a demon's delight. The night he burned the Phantomhive's novel and had Elizabeth pinned to the wall of Ciel's study, he tried to take her. The sight of seeing her so vulnerable and afraid; her fear seeping from her very pores, he couldn't stop himself from trying. It took only a small moment to realize her soul was forever barred from him.

Sebastian couldn't help but admire that aspect of Ciel; always several steps ahead. Nathaniel wasn't ready yet, still so young and clueless. Elizabeth can keep him sheltered from the outside, physical harm, but not from the nightmares. Little did she know all those visions and dreams she saw; Nathaniel saw them too.

Quiet little boy he was, kept them all to himself. How could he possibly describe what he saw with the small vocabulary he possessed? And Elizabeth kept her torture to herself, how would they possibly believe a boy so young?

Sebastian hadn't much time left before his presence in the manor would be known and he had to find new ways of infiltrating. He was going to make the most of it. He was going to make Elizabeth hurt for it, for bringing other allies into their fight. Has she learned nothing from Ciel?

He had no allies, only pawns. Now he was going to show her what true betrayal felt like. But first. . .

She lay in bed now and Sebastian's desire was unbearable. He watched as she struggled to sleep, tossing and turning under her white sheets.

"Elizabeth, when was the last time you gave yourself to someone?"

She could hear Alois's voice in her head. She could feel herself slipping. She tried so hard to drown it out, to keep her composure. The amount of drinks she had that same night left her mind spinning and she shifted in her bed unable to bare the pressing desire between her legs, beckoning her attention. She felt like she had a fever, her body buzzing and vision out of focus. Her mind felt hazy and for a moment she thought her room was spinning. She flopped onto her back and pressed her thighs together. How long has it been? She thought. Since she felt the weight of a man's body on top of hers. Felt his hands grip her hips and tongue draw intricate designs on the canvas of her breasts.

She laid her head back into her pillow and gasped at the memories-at her current desires.

". . .felt such intense pleasure. Surely you crave it. . ."

She did, she wanted to feel that again like any other woman would, but their wasn't a man on Earth she wanted to give herself to.

Sebastian watched as Elisabeth tried to deny herself this pleasure she now desperately wanted. This pleasure he'd want to give to her if only he could. He wanted to drown her in this want, he wanted to see her in ways only Ciel had the privilege of. His eyes flashed a bright red as he focused all his energy on Elizabeth's emotions. He wanted to watch her whither and moan. Oh . . . how much he craved the sound of her moan.

She wanted to give herself over to this, this fleshy desire that now made the tension in her room thick. This desire that had her legs quivering and temperature rising.

Elizabeth's left hand gripped onto her sheets as she bit into her bottom lip. She suddenly felt an intense pressure surrounding her, drowning her, but it wasn't un-welcomed. It only made her desire all the more unbearable. She couldn't tell if this was a dream or reality, she seemed to be draped in a thick fog that only had her wanting one thing.

"mmm" She whimpered, then gasped at the noise she let escape her lips. She hadn't the need for such a sound in so long.

She pulled down the thin straps of her gown, letting it pool around her waist exposing her full breasts under the moon light. Her hands worked at the two perfectly rounded masses, rolling and squeezing them in her palms only to bite her lip as she pulled on her soft, pink nipples. Her skin looked a milky white and began to glisten from the sweat rolling down her forehead and chest.

"I can give you that pleasure again"

Elizabeth groaned in frustration at the voice echoing in her head. Knowing those words were spoken by a man Ciel demised she wanted to stop, but she was already too far in. Her arousal dampening the space between her legs.

At the sight of this Sebastian completely unraveled. Watching this woman he deemed so innocent give herself over to this sinful act maddened him. He wanted her, now with a fierce determination. He couldn't consume her soul but maybe her flesh. He wanted to leave the imprint of his teeth on her skin. Leave the mark of his hand on her rear and stroke that delicate bead of pleasure between her legs. He wasn't in his human form at this time, but he so desperately wanted to be. Demons didn't need sex, their bodies have no need for reproduction, it wasn't an object of persuasion that so easily manipulated humans, but that didn't mean they couldn't enjoy it.

Elizabeth lifted her hips to shimmy her gown down from her waist, only to be forgotten at the bottom of her feet. Her breathing was heavy and coated in wine and Bard's liquor. She couldn't bare this any longer.

Sebastian could smell her scent of desire and wanted to taste it. He wanted to taste her sweat, taste her soft malleable flesh, taste her soft lips. Her right hand traveled past her naval and he watched her heels glide across her sheets.

He gave a deep growl at the sight of Elizabeth's hand between her legs; he growled again taking his human form. He wanted to enter her bedroom, his hand prying against her bedroom door cracked open wide enough for him to see her.

Elizabeth's fingers pushed against her vertical slit and that sensation alone made her cringe. She couldn't be too loud out of fear someone in the manor might hear, she knew Paula slept at weird hours of the night. Her hand was saturated in her arousal making it easier for her fingers to slip inside. She rubbed her entrance with her middle and ring fingers circling gently. She threw her head back against her pillows as her mouth fell open in a silent cry.

"More. ." Sebastian whispered, his power still having a great affect on her mood. Just knowing he was partly the reason she was so sedated gave him pleasure. He manifested inside her room, half in his human form and half without, she couldn't see him but he knew she could feel him.

At the sight of her elongated neck Sebastian wanted to sink his teeth to the vein. He towered over her and dipped his head into the crook of her neck. "Mmmm" He cooed, wishing he could bite.

She cringed at the feeling of his breath on her neck, her dream of Ciel's touch becoming so real to her. Elizabeth began to rub faster, spreading around her wet desire, making it easier for her middle finger to glide into her entrance. Being so close to her he wished he could actually feel the pressure of her chest against his as she arched her back.

"OOhh!" Her legs parted wider as she dug her finger deeper past the second knuckle.

Sebastian smiled at this. He looked down seeing her hips began to dance in sync with the movement of her hand and gritted his teeth at the thought of biting into her quivering thighs.

Her appendage pushed as deep as it could only to pull out to the tip and plunge back inside. Her hair was a mass of blonde waves that fanned over her pillow and partly across her face.

He studied her face so closely; her cheeks that seemed to be permanently red, her brows, that furrowed in a look of desperation and her lips, parted in an open pout.

"Elizabeth. ." He cooed.

She pushed another finger inside and shivered at the new feeling of being stretched wider. "Yes!" She moaned working her fingers in and out in sync with her hips.

She could still hear his voice, almost as if he were there. She tried not to focus on the fact that it was Alois's voice and instead imagined it was someone else's. Ciel's voice. . .Although the memory of it seemed to be so distant.

Sebastian flourished the sight of her breasts shimmering with sweat under the moon light. Her chest heaving as she panted in between her gasps and moans. Her full pink lips red from her teeth tearing into them. Her soft pale skin made him mad, her moans made him cringe, her scent was delicious to him. He was only inches away from claiming her and yet teasing himself was almost just as satisfying. Observing how she moved and quaked intrigued him so much he didn't want to disturb what he had created.

The most satisfying of all, she didn't even know he was there.

Or maybe . . . She did.

She quickened the pace of her fingers and shuttered as she found herself getting closer and closer. The coil inside her about to unravel and send her down a cascading decent of pleasure.

Sebastian couldn't take his eyes off of her, he was almost angered he'd have to entertain Mey-rin after he was done here. He wanted to hear it, he didn't care if she thought she heard Alois's voice, or that she imaged her late husband giving her this pleasure. She knew deep past her liquid intoxication that Sebastian was there feeding her lust, a lust she's never felt before.

He kissed her collar bone, following the curve of her chest, down between her breasts, leaving a trail of his invisible lips. His tongue probed the inside of her naval as he placed a kiss there as well, his nose rubbing against her skin as he resisted extending his fangs.

"Elizabeth" He groaned,

"Ha- Ahh!" Elizabeth gasped as her fingers pushed and rubbed against her slick walls. Sebastian traveled back up her body to see her being to find her peak; but he wasn't finished with her yet. He pressed his forehead to hers, rubbing the bridge of their noses together before pressing his lips to hers. He enjoyed they way she moaned against his mouth and nipped at her face as she wavered.

"Can you feel yourself slipping under?"

He weaved his hand down slightly past her hips and rubbed her center of pleasure between her slits. "haa, ah!" She gasped. "Drowning in this uncontrollable desire?"

Sebastian's long, slender fingers drove into her entrance, deep past her hymen. Elizabeth drew her knees up to her chest as she inserted a third finger.

Her brows pushed together as she through her back releasing a deep growl. Her eyes were squeezed shut as she mewed and gasped at this new sensation that was so becomingly overwhelming. She sat up, pushing her hips against her hand as she felt her entire body tense. All her focus on the grinding of her hips against the movements of her wrist. She propped her left arm behind her as she felt her limbs begin to give out.

"Give you're self to me Elizabeth," She could feel his lips on her neck and his breath at her ear, it was too real. Frighteningly real.

"Mmmm" He purred watching her shiver in response. "Give you're self to me. . ."

"Ahhh!" She inhaled a deep breath as her body finally crashed. "Ohh! God!" Her mouth was agape as her body tensed only to completely unravel with the sound of his voice.

"haa-ah ha! Seb-Sebastian! hmm!" She trembled.

She halted her moments abruptly and shuttered as her orgasm shook her petite form all the way down to her curled toes. She clamped her legs together with her fingers still sheath inside her waiting for her release to finish.

She sighed as she slowly unraveled, removing her fingers and laying down on her back completely spent. The thickness surrounding her seemed to evaporate just as quickly as it entered her room. She stared at her ceiling in horror. Not for what she had just done, but for the name that had escaped her lips.

"So here's what we'll do. We'll keep Funtom patents under my supervision, I close my shops and help you rebuild yours. In exchange for. . fifty percent of the profit."

Elizabeth settled her tea cup on top of the delicate glass saucer and smiled. "No."

"Excuse me?" Alois smirked, amused by her bluntness. "No." She repeated, "You'll hold on to the patents, I know you can keep them safe." Her eyes flickered to Claude standing by the window. "But you're not taking half the profit, I have enough money and workers to rebuild my shops. Thirty percent."

"Hmm." Alois sat back in his chair glancing at Elizabeth with admiration. "What about shipping over seas?"

"I want Funtom to stay domestic for a while, get back on our feet first."

"And designing new toys and testing candy flavors?"

"I was always the more creative side to Ciel," She smirked, knowing how much he hated when she spoke of her husband. "And you clearly haven't heard of the terrible sweet tooth my son has." She giggled.

Alois tilted his head slightly. "You're right, We haven't been properly introduced." he smiled,

Elizabeth took a bite out of her scone and set it down awkwardly. She looked up at Alois with hesitation in her eyes and the blonde bowed his head accordingly.

"I apologize Elizabeth, for the reputation I've made for myself in the past." He reached across the table and lightly placed his hand on top of hers. "The only thing I can assure you of now, is that I want my revenge as much as you do."

"That's where you're wrong Alois..I don't want revenge, That's what Ciel wanted, he had to keep his end of the deal. Now we're just. . .Dealing with the consequences." She shrugged. The tone in Elizabeth's voice sounded defeated, like if she could, she would rewind time to reverse her heart break.

She tightened her jaw. "Elizabeth," Alois voiced, squeezing her hand. "I don't want to harm your son."

She pulled her hand away and placed it in her lap. "I know you don't want to harm him, but that doesn't excuse your tendencies to do harm." Just like Ciel, she has learned to never let her guard down, even for people who call her their ally.

Alois bowed his head, she was right after all, he never knew love or compassion. This was going to be as much of a challenge for him as it was for her.

"Excuse me," She added, standing from the table. She existed her garden outside the back of Phantomhive manor where her and Alois enjoyed some tea over a business plan.

"Thirty-percent." Alois voiced as she made her way back inside the estate. Elizabeth stopped at the door of the estate and gave a small smile.

"Nathaniel, this is Lord Trancy," She voiced.

"It's an honor," Alois outstretched his hand for the small boy in Elizabeth's arms. Nathaniel only glanced at the hand as if it were a foreign object.

"I'm sorry, he's shy around people he doesn't know, and well. . .We just lost our tutor, Nathaniel was quiet fawned of him." She ruffled his soft blueish locks apologetically for bringing up the death of Aleister. She then smoothed his hair back to it's combed perfection at the sight of his flustered cheeks. Alois nodded accordingly already knowing the true fate of what had happened to their Phantomhive instructor.

The blonde bent down to Nathaniel's eye level and as the boy glanced up at him, his maroon eyes caught Alois by surprise.

"How intriguing," He commented, "He has neither your eyes or Ciel's."

"No, he has Ciel's eyes," Elizabeth replied, she was only partly wrong in that statement.

Alois stood and clasped his hands together. "Well, thank you Elizabeth for brunch, but I must be on my way. Hannah seems to be adjusting very well, she may survive you as long as you'd like." Claude went inside to fetch Alois's coat and call a carriage almost as if Alois silently ordered him to.

"You're welcome," Elizabeth replied, rubbing Nathaniel's back as he laid his head on her shoulder. "You know, you really do have horrible timing." Elizabeth added,

"My apologies, the removal of your trusted maid was not apart of my plan." Alois alluded, knowing very well how meticulously planned all of this was.

"You seem to know very well how they think." Elizabeth questioned. "I've been with one for very long now, I'm trying to kill a demon Elizabeth, it's only fitting I know them as well as I can."

Elizabeth swallowed, remembering her reluctance when Alois offered his aid the first time. And from experiencing what had occurred the night before, she would have rather screamed Alois's name than. . .Sebastian.

"I should be apologizing, If only I had listened to you earlier, I could of saved him." Alois brows lowered, "Tis not your fault Elizabeth, the thing about demons is; they always get what they want."

Elizabeth looked up at him in fear, gripping onto Nathaniel tighter. "I'm sorry for being so blunt, but that is the reality of the situation, but we can do all we can to keep him safe."

"I know," She replied. Now knowing for certain Sebastian wanted her too, made her feel sick to her stomach. He couldn't take her soul but her body was a second option.

Alois squinted his eyes, "Elizabeth there seems to be another pressing matter on your mind, I can do all I can to help?"

She wasn't going to tell him what had happened two nights ago; she wasn't going to tell anyone. She wanted to bury it, and the memory, and the desire. She felt like a hypocrite for what she said to Mey-rin; she told her she was vulnerable and so Sebastian took advantage of her, but he took advantage of Elizabeth too. Elizabeth took her anger out on Mey-rin, she felt that betrayal but also the uneasiness of not being able to trust herself.

"It's nothing," She smiled.

"I sent Hannah to your estate to weed out Sebastian, too late to stop him from getting to Mey-Rin, and yet. . .I have a feeling that's not what you mean when you say I had bad timing."

Elizabeth's eyes widened, she could feel her cheeks heat up as Alois eyes pierced into hers. He took a small step closer to her keeping her eyes locked to his. "What did he do Elizabeth?"

She darted between wanting to tell him, trust him with something intimate, and keeping it safe. "Nothing, Sebastian was only there for Mey-Rin." Her lips trembled and her eyes began to water.

"Elizabeth!" Alois lightly placed his hands on her shoulders and guiding her back to the lawn chair beside their morning brunch. He pulled a handkerchief from his coat pocket and handed it to her. She took it gratefully and dabbed under her eyes, trying to stop the water flowing from them.

"What did he do?" Alois repeated. He hated seeing her cry, her large doe eyes should never be anything but bright. She hesitated looking at Nathaniel in her arms. "It's nothing," She whispered.

Alois placed his hand lightly on her bent knee.

Paula turned the corner of the trimmed hedge to see Elizabeth and Alois seemingly in an intimate conversation. "I'll take Nathaniel Madame." She announced, walking up to them and taking the child from her hands. "Oh thank you," Elizabeth voiced.

Paula looked at Elizabeth encouragingly, and the blonde knew her lady's maid wanted her to spend alone time with Alois.

"Hm." Alois agreed, she didn't trust him now but in due time. "Lets go for a walk." He stood and offered her his bend arm. She wasn't very good at lying and the yearning to know what had happened to Elizabeth became a new objective for him.

Elizabeth stood and wrapped her right arm around his left. They started down the path of the garden Finny tended on everyday, her heels clicking against the cobblestone path way.

They walked through the garden casually and just talked. Talked about little things, her favorite type of flower, clothing stores she loved to shop at, music, her company, Nathaniel; and yet Elizabeth could barley remember her favorite things. She hadn't gone shopping in years, she never wanted flowers other than the occasional rose Finny gave her. Her company was just that, a company, there wasn't much joy in a profession making children's toys; not anymore. Alois wanted to find that Elizabeth both him and his rival Ciel, fell in love with. Sebastian had truly taken a tole on her, physically, emotionally, and mentally and Alois couldn't help but want to fix her. In his mind, he was going to have to fix himself first; maybe in a way, Elizabeth's love for her son would rub off on him.

"Nothing happened Alois I was just a bit. . .marinated." Elizabeth blushed.

"Madame! I say!" Alois exclaimed sarcastically making Elizabeth blush. "Am I not grown enough to share a drink with my servants?" Elizabeth asked.

"No, you have grown quite well. You can join me for a drink any time." Alois replied. Elizabeth shied away from his gaze.

"I don't think I'll drink that much ever again," She began leaving her sentence to trail off in silence.

He waited for her to continue the explanation of why she began to cry at the thought of Sebastian lurking through their estate two nights ago but he quickly realized she wasn't going to budge. They finished their round in the garden then entered the estate where Claude waited impatiently. She unhooked her arm from Alois as she saw the bright glint in Paula's eyes; she didn't want her getting the wrong idea. Looking at Nathaniel she wondered what he'd think about having a new father, not like he had the chance to meet his old one.

Elizabeth cupped her hands behind her back stoically, "Well, I think we accomplished a lot today, I should have the contracts printed by the end of this week."

Alois nodded, "Sounds good," He smirked. Claude opened the front door and waited for his master to exit.

"Mama" Nathaniel cried, reaching his arms out for Elizabeth hastily. Elizabeth swooped him out of Paula's arms and kissed his plump cheek.

"I shall see you again Madame Elizabeth."Alois took a step closer and Elizabeth could see the small bit of color rising on his cheeks.

"Perhaps this Friday?" He asked.

"Oh," She sighed. She knew he wasn't going to leave the estate without asking her on an evening out. He hasn't mentioned his desire for sexual incentives yet, but she knew eventually he would. She neglected to tell him the reason she got so drunk was to drown out the decision to sleep with him. After speaking with Paula she knew keeping Nathaniel safe was now more important than her loyalty to Ciel.

"Friday is Nathaniel's birthday." She smiled, glad she had a legitimate excuse to deny him.

"All Hallow's Eve?!" Alois replied.

"Yes, I guess holiday babies run in the family." Elizabeth smiled, remembering how they always referred to Ciel as a Christmas baby. "Is there a problem?"

"Not at all." Alois smirked, "But you know what they say about Halloween? It's the one night a year the spirits of the dead can return." He wiggled his fingers in the air once he noticed he captured Nathaniel's attention as well.

"Don't listen to him" Elizabeth whispered to her son. "It's all legends and myths!" She smirked.

"Very well, you're planning a grand party for him I bet? With costumes and all?" Alois smirked, "You never turned down those types of gatherings."

"Well, a lot has changed since I was a child," She looked at her son in her hands, lightly playing with his soft strands of hair. "I'm not really planning something grand, small and intimate with my family."

"But you're more than welcome to join us!" Paula interceded. Elizabeth snapped her head towards Paula in a harsh glare. At the sight of Elizabeth's angry pout Alois smiled.

"Understood," He bowed. "Enjoy the rest of you evening Madame Elizabeth."

Closing her door she turned to Paula with a deep fire in her eyes. "Why do you do this?" Elizabeth asked. "Why do you undermine me, and interceded when I don't want you to."

"I'm only trying to help, and do what I think is best for you Elizabeth." Paula replied.

"Well I know what is best for my family and I. This isn't about what you think," Elizabeth replied walking out of the corridor and up the stairs to her room. At the top of the stair case Finny was dusting the railing and Elizabeth couldn't help but giggle at how delicate he tried to be. He seemed to be concentrating all his energy on his wrist sweeping back and forth. At least in yard work he could be more lenient and use his incredible strength. She told the two men they didn't have to pick up on Mey-Rin's job now that she was gone, but they still insisted on keeping the manor as persistent as Ciel left it.

"Here Finny, Nathaniel needs his nap." She tried to hand Nathaniel to Finny but her son rejected him. "Nathaniel?!" Elizabeth voiced. He gripped onto her shoulders and buried his face into her chest.

"What's wrong Love?" She asked.

"mmmhmm" He mumbled, "Nathaniel, use your words please."

He turned his head so that his ear was pressed against the center of her chest, listening to the sound of her heart beat. "I want Mama" He replied. Finny and Elizabeth exchanged a glanced that read something had to be wrong. He never had a problem with one the servants laying him down for a nap. Elizabeth always ate three meals a day with him, checked in on him during tutoring, gave him his bath and tucked him in at night so it wasn't like she was neglecting him.

"I'll tuck him in then," Elizabeth voiced making her way to his room.

She laid Nathaniel in his bed again and patted his back until she deemed him fully asleep. She quietly stood from the bed and turned to leave.

"Mama!" He cried sitting up in the bed at the notice she was gone. Elizabeth released her grip on the door handle and turned to her son.

"Nathaniel what is wrong?" She asked again, this being the third time she had tried to leave him alone.

Her son lay back on his large pillow as she sat beside him. "Tell mama what's wrong," She asked cupping his petite face.

He sat there quietly watching her as she watched him. It wasn't like him to be this fussy, not even as an infant. "I'm not going anywhere love, my room is right on the other side of that door." She pointed to the wall on her left where a door connected her room to his.

He pressed his head into her hand and she sighed. She crawled into bed with him and he laid his head on her chest with his tiny, right hand gripping her arm to insure she didn't leave again.

"It follows Mama." He whispered.

"What?" Elizabeth replied, startled. She began rubbing his back as he trembled slightly. "What does Nathaniel?"

He pressed his lips together afraid to answer her; finding it hard to describe. "follows. ." He repeated.

"Can you tell me who he-it is?" She asked with a deep knowing that she already knew the answer.

"I don't know." He whined.

"Go to sleep, I'm not going anywhere." She whispered feeling his tiny body finally relax.

Elizabeth laid there with a deep ache in her chest, she didn't want to think of the one reason she knew for sure, was the cause of her sons discomfort. That was the same answer she told him the first time she saw Sebastian return. He was standing in front of Nathaniel, bowing to him as he's done for his father, and when she asked him who that man was he replied he didn't know.

How could she be so blind?

She thought Sebastian was focusing all his energy on her, that she was baring all his torment. Every time Nathaniel cried in the middle of the night, she thought it was because he could hear her cry and maybe that was partly the case. The first time he had a nightmare he wanted to sleep with her, have her comfort him.

She thought she had drove Nathaniel away, he wanted a separate room to get some peace and quiet from her. He wanted to escape the thing that was following Elizabeth around, but it followed him too.

She looked down at her son, finally dosing off and realized she was wrong. She couldn't help the tears that fell down her face and again she was reminded of her stubbornness when Alois offered to help her; she'd give more than her body to keep Nathaniel safe, maybe it was truly time to move on from Ciel.

How could she be so blind. .

(Am I the only one that loves this side of Sebastian? I like writing past scenes from his perspective so I apologize if you dislike repetition. Reviews?)
