Orochimaru was not impressed. Being stuck in this forest was bad enough on its own, but somehow he had lost Kabuto. He had also managed to pick up an orange-haired brat calling herself Lirin.
Oh, and it was snowing. He didn't see how things could get worse.
"I'm so hungry, Orochi!"
He twitched.
Lirin looked up suddenly and stared into the clearing ahead of them. Orochimaru looked up as well as he heard the rustling leaves.
A moment later, two men who could have been twins stepped into the clearing from opposite sides and stopped dead, staring at each other.
"You!" they both shouted.
"Oh not again," the teenager standing behind the slightly shorter of the blond men sighed.
"This is getting ridiculous," the blond teen with the other man (obviously his father) agreed. "After running into each other five times already, I think it's about time for introductions. I'm Draco. This is my father, Lucius."
"Duo," the brunette replied. "The moron is Zechs. We're searching for some supposedly dangerous mushroom."
"So are we."
"Mushroom?" Lirin asked. "Can I eat it?"
"No. They would probably poison you if not cooked correctly," Orochimaru sighed.
Duo glanced in their direction. "Whoa. No offence, dude, but you are really freaky looking."
Draco, Lucius and Zechs followed his gaze. Draco and Zechs both grimaced, but Lucius just shrugged. "It's nothing compared to the Dark Lord."
Orochimaru tried not to pout.
The clearing fell into a rather awkward silence.
Eventually, it was broken by a young man with glasses and grey hair stepping off the opposite end of the path Orochimaru (and Lirin) had been following.
Orochimaru had never been so glad to see Kabuto.
"Orochimaru-sama, I found the mushrooms we were after." He paused as he noticed the way they eyes of everyone in the clearing lit up. He then cleared his throat somewhat sheepishly. "Uh, but I'm afraid that they were ruined by the snow. So they aren't going to do any of us any good."
Duo groaned. "Aw man…Une's gonna kill us!"
With a sigh, Lucius nodded. "I can't see the Dark Lord being very impressed either."
Lirin pouted. "Kougaiji's gonna be cranky…and I'm starvin' here!"
"I fucking hate snow," Draco muttered. Zechs nodded fervently.
Orochimaru stayed silent as the two other pairs bid one another farewell and left, and merely grunted in acknowledgement of Lirin's chirpy goodbye.
Still silent, he raised an eyebrow at Kabuto. "Ruined by the snow?"
Kabuto gave him a smirk. "Oh yes, Orochimaru-sama. But thankfully, I had already found them and collected what we needed before it began snowing."
"Wonderful," he replied with a sinister smile.
"Yes," Kabuto agreed. "Your mushroom muffins just wouldn't be the same without them."
You see, a certain author (coughAnialacough) came up with an amusing idea that involved a lot of paper, a lot of names and items and places, and several boxes. This, of course, was designed to lead to Really Random Crossover Oneshots. As such…here is my first one. I probably have everyone out of character, but…oh well.
