Chapter 1: My name is JoJo

[This isn't like the world you know well, this is completely different. The history, the people, the danger, nothing like you've remembered. This story takes place in an alternate world from the main timeline. In this world, the U.S.A was rendered in disrepair after world war II, and so joined back up with the UK, being led under the monarchy. In this timeline, the British Empire remains strong. The year is 2012. Queen Elizabeth II works alongside the Zeppali Foundation with their work in science and medicine, as well as their hand in magic. Recently, a threat going by the name, Mad Onna is leading a rebellion to overthrow the Queen, and take power. Under orders from the Zeppali, the Stand Users enlisted with them, have been tasked with swiftly removing Mad Onna from the picture.]

Crowded in the heart of Birmingham, people flood the train station for various purposes. Friends meet on the platforms for a night out, men and women in suits just getting back, carrying old leather cases. Upstairs, waiting by the terminal, two men lounge by a pillar. One of them, looking the youngest of the pair, leans on the pillar, arms crossed, smiling as he nods his head to the tunes playing from a radio on the side. He's dressed in a pair of black jeans, with a white zip-up hoodie and jean vest over it; their hair a bright bleach blonde, clearly unnatural, shaved at the sides with the top spiked up. The other, a more muscular built gentleman in work trousers, and a dark grey t-shirt; their hair is shaved all over, but grows darker at the top. He paces side to side, his arms behind his back, showing frustration on his face. "We're going to miss it. He's running late."

The one against the pillar looks up, still with a smile on their face, and opens their eyes. "The train will be here in 5 minutes, we need to..." "Relax mate. When has a train ever turned up on time?" The one by the pillar finally speaks to their companion. The other man stops moving, and turns to their friend. "7 o'clock, Chester. 7. That's when the train will get here. We need to be on that train. We can't go, just the two of us." Their tone comes off as hype, as well as panicked. "Jonah needs to be here so we can..." "Oi!" The pair look over to the distant calling out from the side. Sprinting across the open floor, a tall man dressed in cotton and wool charred towards the pair. They had a jacket and sweater over a white shirt, and black trousers, with a flap cap. "See. Nothing to worry about. Jonah is here." Chester reclaims, pointing with his palm facing up.

[Jonah Joestar. Aged 20. Adopted son of Robert E. Joestar. The Joestars are a long lived family, and since earlier years, have been living in proud wealth. Despite being adopted into the family, Jonah was treated as if he was blood. Wanting to be made the sole heir to the fortune, his brother and blood son to his adoptive father tried to kill him, only for him to manifest his stand to protect him. In the eyes of Robert, this made him worthy of both the Joestar name, as well as the fortune he was to inherit. After word got out about what happened with his brother, people began to respect him as a Joestar, tagging him with the monocure of JoJo.]

With his suitcase dragging behind him, Jonah unites with the pair, Chester stands up from the pillar. "Sorry I'm late Adam, Chester." He sounds out of breath, like he's been running for a while. Adam takes a step closer to him, and grabs him by his jacket. "Do you have any idea how close..." Chester puts his hand on Adams back. "Easy mate. It's fine." Chester pulls Adam back slightly, moving him away from Jonah. "We've got our tickets, we're getting on from platform 1." Jonah nods, reaching into his jacket pocket, and pulls out a ticket. "Good. Then let's go." Chester says, looking at Adam with a cocky grin. They grab their bags and make haste towards their platform.

The trio arrive on the designated platform, gasping and heaving for air. The intercom announces the arrival of the train to platform 1. Being closer to the edge, Chester turns his head in the direction it's coming from, and a spark of joy emerges on his face. Adam sees this, and takes a step back, looking almost terrified. "Our train..." Chester says with the glee of a child. "Is a steam train!" Their train pulls up to the platform, smoke escaping from the roof of the front. Every rail cart looks to have its own set of private carriages. Jonah joins Chester in his excitement, as Adam just looks on in disbelief. "It's just a steam train. What's the big deal?" Adam remarks, grabbing his case to bring onboard. "What's not to love? It's a piece of history right before us. Surely someone like you can appreciate that despite appreases, it still works like a beauty, and goes their job." Chester remarks, Jonah tries to hide his laughter behind his hand. "Was that a dig at..." "All aboard!" A strong, commanding voice roars from the front of the train. "We better get on." Jonah says, grabbing his bag tight, being the first to get on the train. "Alright. But remember lads." Both Jonah and Chester stop in their tracks as Adam's tone turns serious. "As of right now. We are on official Zeppali Foundation Business." Adam makes his point by presenting the ZF badge on his collar. The pair nod in agreement, presenting their badges in understanding, Chester's on his vest, and Jonah's on his cap. "Right then, all aboard." Adam smiles, following his comrades onto the train.

Despite the train leaving the station two minutes ago, the trio still carry their bags as they search for a private compartment for the three of them. "Over here!" Jonah calls out from the back of the carriage, and the others rush over as he opens the door. Placing their bags over their heads, they close the door, and sit down on the seats. "Nice to take the weight off." Chester remarks, leaning back in his seat. "No arguments here." Adam retorts, stretching his arms out. Jonah sits by the window, looking through his little notebook. "Okay, it should take us just over 5 hours to reach Edinburgh. It'll be dark then, so we'd best be careful on the way to the barracks." Jonah notes down in his book. "Would it be a good idea to have a nap on the train? I don't want to ruin my sleep pattern." Chester jokes, as he lays his head back further, his arms behind his head.

After being on the rails, Adam starts to feel discomfort in his back, and sits up. Chester feels the movement on the sofa and opens his eyes. Jonah watches him in the window reflection. "You okay?" Jonah asks, looking concerned. "I just felt something off. Like the number of people on this train just, decreased." These words bring an unpleasant look in Chester's eye. "Do you think we're under attack?" Chester asks in a lowered tone. "It's worth a look just in case. It might just be off." Jonah cracks his neck, and stands up, towering over the others. "Which way do you believe the attack started?" They sound serious, like a leader. "Closer to the front of the train." Adam remarks.

Jonah nods his head, looking stoic in his mannerisms. "Okay. This is what we're going to do. I'm going to scout ahead, going through each cart. You'll use your stand to give Chester a read out of the train, and he'll report to me over the phone." Without any need to validate the plan, Jonah tips his cap to the pair, and leaves the compartment. Chester stands up and stretches. "Right, Adam. Take your shirt off." He says in a joking manner. Standing up, Adam's body starts to glow a green aura. "Take flight, Maps!" As he grabs his shirt from the bottom, he pulls it over his head. The falcon tattoo on his back comes to life, taking the form of a real bird that soars out of the window. The tattoo on his back spreads across his whole back. The falcon glides behind the train, over the last cart that the trio are in. After a second to process, the tattoo turns into a layout of the whole train, showing different symbols relating to people on the train.

Chester pulls out his phone from his vest, and gives Jonah a nod through the compartment window. Chester calls Jonah on their phone. He pulls theirs out of their jacket, and starts to walk down the carriage. "JoJo, we have a lay out of the cart we're in now." Jonah starts to walk slowly so he has time to look through every window. "Okay, on your right there should be 2 people, opposite each other." Jonah looks to his side to see a man and woman together. "Check." "After that, there should be 3 people...2...4...3 and a dog." Jonah confirms each carriage has the right amount of people. "Okay then, we'll have Maps move up a cart and we'll.." Chester slides his finger up Adam's back as he directs Jonah, making him shiver. "Why are your hands so cold?" Adam comments, his back twitching as he shivers from the cool touch. "Sorry, I've got back circulation." Chester replies, rubbing his hand on his hoodie to warm it up. "Well maybe you should see a doctor about.." Adam gets cut off by a voice on the intercom. "Good evening passengers." Adam looks up to see where the noise is coming from. "I didn't know old trains like this had an intercom." Chester's eyes narrow as he pulls the phone close. "They don't."

The voice speaks again. "Our non-stop ride to Edinburgh will be taking a brief detour into hell to drop off some Zeppali Foundation low-lifes. Please don't be alarmed by their haunting, yet justified screams. Enjoy the ride." The voice stops talking. "You pair heard that right?" Jonah talks through the phone. Chester places the phone on speaker. "Yeah, I don't think they let normal conductors get away with that kind of language." Jonah looks back through the compartments. "It doesn't look like anyone else is reacting to it, like they're none the wiser." The three men go silent as their own hearts pound in their ears. "Adam. You said you felt someone disappear near the front, correct?" Jonah asks with a concerned tone. Before being given an order, Adam's stand, Maps soars over the rest of the train, catching up with the front; his tattoo changing as the stand's vision develops. Hovering over the train, Maps gets a clear image of the front. The tattoo changes to mimic the sight. Chester's eyes widened. "Jonah, head straight to the front of the train. The driver is the stand user!"
