Author's Notes: This fanfic is set years before Grojband, which explains why Mina's name is still Bernadette at this time, why Trina is still known as Trina at this time, and why the characters are younger here. Also, sorry for how short this one is compared to the previous one.
"You're doomed RiffBitch. You. Are. Doomed".
"Chill out dudes. It was just a joke. I didn't mean anything by it!"
"Well, some things just aren't funny, twerp!"
Poor Corey was surrounded by four tall-ass high school students just under a tree on a grassy hill; they were your stereotypical "cool kids" who wore balaclavas, so that just in case there were witnesses, they wouldn't recognize them. And now they were about to hurt Corey because of an innocent prank that he had played on the four of them.
"Can't you guys just take a joke?" Corey asked innocently.
Hearing this made the bullies break into laughter. "Are you fuckin kiddin' me right now? This kid actually thinks we have no sense of humor!"
"You really don't", Corey responded.
The bullies stopped laughing, having been "offended" enough for by their supposedly measly object of hate, Corey Riffin. One bully delivered a left hook across Corey's face, leaving behind a nasty bruise.
"Hol' da lil' mothafucka up! I want him to look at me as I beat his white ass!" the "black" bully said. He wasn't raised very well, just so you now, which explains the gangsta talk.
"Um, we're white too, ya know!" said the third bully in exasperation.
"Shut da fuck up and hold him already!" the black bully yelled.
The other two bullies held Corey up by both his arms, and one taped up Corey's mouth so that no one would hear him scream.
The black bully started using his fists to beat up Corey, delivering painful blows to his face, ribs and stomach. Corey's grunts of pain and cries for help were muffled no thanks to the tape on his mouth.
What made the already tense atmosphere incredibly unnerving was that the bullies showed no evident signs of sadistic pleasure. No laughs, no smiles, no grins, no smirks, no nothing.
Just the sounds of brutal punches and muffled cries for help echoing into the air of the afternoon.
"COREY!"
A shrill voice interrupted the bullies, who stopped beating up Corey and promptly let go of him. They turned to see a fuming Karina, glaring at them in pure anger.
"You jerks better stop hurting my fucking brother!" she screeched out.
"Shit man, we've been caught! We should get outta here while he still can!" said the fourth bully.
"Get outta here? Like hell!" the second bully said and start marching towards Trina, her stance unchanging.
"Listen, you pink-haired bitch. We don't tolerate clowns. So unless you wanna end up like him, I suggest you turn around and get the fuck outta here!"
Since the second bully was taller than her (much taller should I say), Trina had to look up.
Without warning, she stabs the bully in his left wrist with her school scissors, much to everyone's shock and causing him to scream in pain. Katrina then pulls out the scissors as the bully clenched his wrist in an attempt to stop the bleeding.
"How bout you get the fuck outta here?" Katrina growled out.
"YOU'RE A FUCKED UP LITTLE GIRL YA HEAR?!" he screamed before he and his fellow bullies fled the scene immediately.
Katrina looked down at her bloodied right hand (and therefore the bloody scissors). "What the hell did I just do? I was trying to protect my brother", she said as tears welled up in her eyes.
Upon remembering that Corey needed her help, Katrina darted towards her whimpering little brother, who had suffered a black eye, a broken nose, and bruised ribs. Katrina removed the tape covering his mouth, allowing to release the sobs that we so desperately wanted for someone, anyone to hear.
Katrina hugged the crying Corey close to her, her chin resting on top of his head.
"Hush now, Corey. Hush. Hush"
Corey wouldn't stop crying.
Sooner or later, Bernadette arrived. She was told to wait in case Mr. Riffin came early, because Katrina had noticed that Corey hadn't shown up yet, which had Katrina worried, and she went to investigate. Katrina and Mina had a sleepover planned tonight, but Mr. Riffin said he would be late due to work.
So when Bernadette heard a scream, she immediately walked the same route Katrina had gone through to reach her injured brother. Needless to say, she was shocked when she saw Katrina consoling an injured and crying Corey, but she was even more shocked by the blood on Katrina's hand.
"Katrina what happened?" she asked
"Some punk-asses tried to hurt Corey", Katrina gritted through her teeth.
"And...I take it you stabbed one of them?" Bernadette asked nervously, pointing to Katrina's bloodied hand.
"I was just so mad, I had no idea what the fuck I was doing!" Katrina exclaimed, tears of guilt threatening to spill.
Bernadette walked over and put a hand on Katrina's shoulder. "I get it".
Katrina looked at her friend with wide eyes; she was expecting Bernadette to reprimand her. "You do?" she asked.
Bernadette let out a small smile. "I do". She knelt down to Corey's level. "Hey, Corey", she said softly.
Corey took his head off of Katrina's shoulder and looked into Mina's (bespectaled) eyes. Mina silently gasped at the injuries on Corey's face, but she nonetheless put a soothing hand on Corey's left shoulder. "Tell us what happened", she inquired.
Corey's eyes were still flowing with tears. "It was those same g-g-g-g-guys who wouldn't stop m-making fun of us. The same ones who wouldn't stop bullying us", the boy squeaked out.
"How could they?" gasped Bernadette. "Damn those motherfuckers!" Katrina growled out. The pink-haired girl knew that this had something to do with the fact that they are adopted.
"And then...I told them a 'joke' that was actually a comeback at their insults", Corey continued.
"And they didn't take it well, did they?" asked Katrina as she sadly looked towards her brother. Corey shook his head.
"I feel so bad for you guys", said Bernadette. Hearing the whole thing made her feel like crying too.
"It's not easy for us. And it never will be", said Katrina, letting out some tears of her own.
"Well, I wanna help with this bullying thing", said Bernadette, wanting to help her BFF.
"I've got it covered", retorted Katrina. "No you don't", a doubtful part of her mind said to herself.
Corey started crying again, leading Katrina to rub circles around his back. "It's ok. I'm here. It's ok", she reassured.
Bernadette wanted to comfort Corey too. "May I...?" she asked.
"Go ahead", Katrina whispered.
Bernadette, Katrina and Corey were in a big group hug with each other. Corey's cries slowed down a bit as he was basking in the warmth and comfort of his sister and her best friend.
Katrina kissed her brother's forehead.
"It's ok".
