Well this all seems…Horrible

It's been a long two years. I had this plan and thing went pretty south.

Still haven't got a beta yet…or artwork…or better grammar.

I hate this chapter. I didn't want to post it. This chapter caused me to rethink and rewrite this story like 50 times and moved all the time lines around. I'm not happy with it but if I don't put it up it will never go up and I'll never finish this story. I still might rip it down later.

However before anything else I want to just say thank you to everyone who review this story or pm'd me over the last two years. Good or bad, praise or criticism, taking interesting, any interest, is nice gesture. It is what kept me working on this story so…here you go.

For some reason FF has been giving me trouble with importing stories from word. I looked over this a lot but if things look out of place I'm sorry. I can't promise frequent updates (since the world has gone pear shaped) but I would at least like to get more then a chapter ever two years.

April 4 Abidjan, West Africa

In the commune of Koumassi, near the industrial area, gun fire rang out.

Inside the ruins of a destroyed building were two people, a man and women, in a gun battle with several groups of soldiers in green outfits.

The woman had short red hair down to her shoulders and was dressed in all black. On her arms was to silver braces with many different attachment on them. On her belt was a symbol of a red hourglass and she was firing two pistols at the men.

The man next to her was also in all black, with short brown hair and blue eyes. Unlike the women he was instead using a bow and arrow to fight.

They were not however, ordinary arrows, evidenced by the fact that when he fired one at a group of men dressed in green, they all blew up. The man ducked behind cover as the soldiers redirect their bullets at him.

The man growled as he looked towards the women.

"How the hell did they get here so fast?" He asked her.

The red haired women gave him a look. "They saw you."

He shook his head "no way. They knew we were coming Nat."

"I agree" the lady identified as Nat replied. "They knew we were coming because they saw you Clint."

Clint fired an arrow over his soldier and killed another man. "I don't think you can prove that and anyway just what even is a "Serpent Society"?" He asked, puzzled by the group they were fighting.

Nat killed another two men before reloading her guns. "Terror group headed by international assassins, big in the black market, have a thing for snakes…did you even read the brief?" She asked him.

Clint pressed a few buttons on his bow and a mechanical sound came from his quiver. He pulled out an arrow and fired it. Instead of blowing up it separated into a bunch of mini arrows killing a few more men.

"I skimmed it…had something else on my mind. I was thinking of knocking out that wall next to the closet and putting a bathroom on the first floor."

Nat shook her head. "That won't work; your wife needs it for her cleaning supplies. Have you thought about putting it in the shed next to the kitchen instead?"

Clint looked at her like she was crazy. "Natasha, do you even realize how much pipe I'd have to put under the house for that?! It's dangerous under there…it might be full of spiders."

Natasha killed the last one fighting as the others ran away. "I'm sure you'll be fine. Did you grab the drive they were downloading those files in?"

The man smiled at her and waved it in her face. "Where would you be without me?"

"In a plane 20 minutes ago because I would have got it without having to fight them all."

"That hurts, besides they weren't so difficult to handle."

Natasha was just about to speak, until she started to hear the sound of an incoming helicopter. She looked around to try to determine its location.

Clint, evidently also hearing the sound, started to relax and let his guard down.

"Well I guess it's time to go. Not that I don't have a fondness for ruined cities and all, but I kind want to be anywhere else but here".

Natasha wasn't sold, and quickly recognized the helicopter coming to them. It had an odd shape with two domes covering seats in the front. "Clint, that chopper isn't here to pick us up" she told him.

The chopper had moved to a few blocks out before stopping and facing there direction.

The agents instincts screamed at them to run, the both of them only getting several feet, before a hail of bullets tore through were they had just been standing.

"THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT" Clint screamed over the noise. "I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST A SMALL FRY GROUP. NOBBODY SAID THEY HAD ATTACK CHOPPERS!"

"WELL…"

"DON"T SAY IT NAT, JUST DON'T"

"THE BRIEF DID MENTION…"

"AAAAHHHH" Clint yelled out as he kicked open the door of a house in front of them. They were weaving about in the ruins trying to lose the copper. Making it inside just as a rocket blew up the building they had come from.

Clint looked over at Natasha calmly tapping away at her TAC PAD.

"How are you taking this so well?" He asked her, upset at being the only one annoyed with the whole situation.

Natasha shrugged her shoulders as she kept using her gadget.

"This is hardly the worst problem we've had and Fury has our transport at a minute out. Even still, when things look bad you can always remind yourself of one thing."

"As bad as things look for you now, somewhere…"

April 4, West Genetics

"Someone else has it worse."

"AAAAAGHHHH" Susan cried out as she smashed into a wall.

The normally well-kept Pandora was covered in a mix of mud, grime and blood. She slowly got to her feet, panicking as she looked around for her attacker.

"Aw…that looks like that hurt." A voice called out

Susan put her back to the wall and took a defensive stance with her weapons. She scanned the area in front of her looking for any sign of movement. She was just about to run when the wall broke behind her. A slim hand grabbed her by the hair and yanked her back threw it.

Dazed, she looked up and saw the smile that had been haunting her for the past 10 minutes.

She tried to attack with her sickle, only to watch as it broke on contact.

"My, your weapons are so fragile. It looks like you're having a tough time."

Susan scuttled back in fear as she stared at her attacker.

With long light brown hair wet from rain and a large metal gantlet on her right arm, Chiffon Fairchild resembled a specter from a horror movie.

Her left hand was cupping her cheek as she smiled down at Miller, the bright white teeth of hers shining in the darkened area, made her seem all the more terrifying.

Chiffon tilted her head in as she looked down.

"Hmm what wrong? You seem a little confused, things aren't going how you though they would right? I guess it just isn't the same as attacking a defenseless Limiter now is it?"

Susan tried to stand up and flee, but Chiffon was having none of it. She lifted her foot and brought it down on Susan's leg with a crunch.

Susan screamed as she held her leg, tears coming out of her eyes. She tried to speak and desperately ask her to stop, but what came out of her mouth was nothing more than broken words, and sentences.

Chiffon slowly walked after Susan as she started to crawl away again. Her slit eyes bore down upon the girl that had attacked her partner. She bent over and took hold of her right arm and lifted her off the ground. She held her in front of her face.

"You don't like me…I get that. No really, I do. However…when you damage something of mine…it makes me quite upset."

"I…di..n't..m..an.."

"What was that? I'm sorry, but I just can't seem to understand you."

"I…I…didn't mean to h-hurt him."

"Oh" Chiffon said in a mocking tone. "You didn't mean to do it, is that right? Just like you didn't mean to put him in the hospital or try and turn him against me and take him for yourself right?

Susan whimpered as she looked at her.

"Oh yes, I know all about your little story time with him. I guess you must have been angry when he turned you down. Being the spiteful little girl you are, you must have wanted to teach him a lesson. If that lesson just so happened to hurt me in the process then well, all the better right?"

Susan said nothing.

"Not being able to beat me must have irked you a while now. Attacking my Limiter must have been the easiest way to finally do it. I'm sure the others that saw what happen will come to that realization as well. I'm not going to let that happen of course…"

"I believe the best way to do that is by showing an example of what would happen if they did. Don't you think so Miller?"

Susan could only watch, frozen by fear, as the smiling girl put her other hand on her right shoulder. The smile on her face turned into a vicious grin as she locked her grip.

Then she ripped off her arm.

Susan's scream echoed through the area as both her and her arm were dropped to the ground.

Chiffon looked down at the sad sight of the formally proud Pandora. Watching her hyperventilate and bawl her eyes out. She came to the conclusion it was time to end this.

She reached over and grabbed her head with her volt weapon and pulled her off the ground. Susan offered no resistance to her, shaking in pain and fear.

Chiffon than slowly began to-

"Please don't do something you'll regret."

She stopped.

Her mouth switched into a frown as she held her positons for several seconds before relenting. She dropped Miller on the ground and stared at her hands. The blood from Miller was still on her weapon.

Chiffon let out a sigh before turning to Susan, trembling in fear on the ground. She locked eyes for her for a few seconds before she talked to her again.

"…You are not to go near him again. If you touch so much as a hair on his head I won't stop next time. Remember that when you wake up." She finished as she knocked Miller out with a chop to her neck.

Chiffon paused before taking a deep breath and dismissing her weapon. She stood there for a few seconds before tensing and tilting her head to stare at a pile of rubble.

"Well?" she addressed the pile "are you going to come out then?" she questioned out loud.

Nothing moved for short a period of time till a girl walked out from behind it, her long blonde hair and two sharp blue eyes standing out as she gazed at the other Pandora.

"Hello there Elizabeth, been standing there for a while now hmm" Chiffon said as she addressed the rank 2 of the second years.

Elizabeth said nothing as she looked between the two girls. A serious look gracing her face while doing so.

The two girls stood in silence for a minute before the newcomer spoke up.

"I must admit I had half suspected that you might have gone too far before I could get here and prevent that from happening. I am pleased that you were able to control your…temper" Elizabeth stated now giving the other girl her full attention.

Chiffon said nothing as she kept her head down.

Elizabeth narrowed as she observed her expression. "I see…"

Nothing was else was said between the two girls for a few minutes, the sound of battle off in the distance being the only noise in the area.

Elizabeth face was blank until a smile graced it. "I'm please that he has been a positive influence on you."

Chiffon head snapped up.

Elizabeth face now turned dark, now looking the other girl in the face. "A shame it isn't true the other way around. Really now, striking you own limiter…I thought better of you Madam President".

Chiffon said nothing as she dismissed her volt weapon. Her face twisted in a grimace.

"I'll fix this"

A few hours later Chiffon found herself in front of Peter's door. She had tried to think of ways to apologize to him for her actions before simply deciding to just talk with him directly. While she still felt that some of her anger at him wasn't misplaced it couldn't justify he lashing out at him. She raised her hand and knocked on the door.

It took several seconds for light reply of "come in" was uttered and she slowly opened the door.

Peter was currently sitting at his work bench poking away at the large broken TV. As she walked closer to him she noticed that he slowly cringed forward over the table.

Realizing that, she walked over and took a seat on the edge of his bed. She waited several minutes, watching him work and debating on how best to talk to him.

"Peter" she gently started "can you come over here and sit with me please" asking him as she patted the spot next to her.

Peter didn't move for a few seconds before dropping his shoulders and slowly getting up. She turned her head as he moved passed her and sat down on the bed.

He didn't say anything as he looked down at the ground fidgeted with his hands. She watched as he became tenser as the seconds ticked by.

"Peter" she slowly began "I-

"SORRY"

She leaned backwards from his unexpected outburst, looking just as surprised as he did from it.

His eyes were wide and his mouth slowly opened and closed as he looked at her. Before taking a deep breath and starting to blab out.

"I'm sorry Chiffon, so sorry. This is my entire fault everything fell apart so fast and I stared to try and fix it but then everting got worse and I wasn't really sure what to do so I started to lie tobuytimetofigureawayoutandmyauntalwayssaysthatitsamistaketo-"

'Wow'…she slowly tilted her head sideways, unsure on how best to handle this. She slowly lifted her hands up to him in a calming gestor.

"-hanifoundoutthatAttiatoldyouwhathappenedandthenithough-"

"Peter."

"andiknewyouweregoingtobesupermadatmebuti-"

"Peter!"

"-igotuptowhereyouwereandirealizedihadnocluewhatto-"

"PETER" she shouted as she grabbed his face with her hands, cutting him off from his run on explination.

His eyes were wide open and fully focused on her. He didn't say anything for a few seconds before he gave her a weak smile.

"…So do you want to hear a joke about paper?"

Chiffon sighed to herself and folded her arms a crossed her chest. Giving him a flat look as he turned to the only defense he had to uncomfortable situations.

Telling Jokes

"…Never mind it's tearable."

"Peter, can you please be serious for me?"

He lowered his head down for a few seconds before looking back up to her again. He rubbed the back of his head.

"I'm Sorry Chiffon…i…it's a bad habit. I'm sorry that I lied to you about everything…I didn't want anyone to get hurt. But I guess that's all that ended up happing anyway."

She reached over and put a hand on top of his head and rubbed it affectionately.

"It's ok Peter I forgive you. I also came to apologize as well." She moved her hand from his head to the cheek she smacked, cupping it softly. A light bruise had formed on it. "While I was quite upset with you I never should have strike you. Can you forgive me as well?"

Peter looked at her like she had grown a second head. "Uh…sure its ok, you don't have to really be sorry for that though."

"Yes" she told him "I really do".

She folded her hands in her lap. The two of them sat in silence for a minute.

"So…" he started "are we cool now?"

She huffed through her nose "yes Peter we're "cool now"."

He fell back on his bed and sighed loudly. She turned and laid on her stomach, kicking her feet up in the air while looking at him. He turned his head sideways to look at her.

"So I guess the carnival went ok. I'm willing to bet your still number one."

"Yes" she began "It was close call but I'm still in first place."

He snorted "close call she says."

She giggled before she remembered something.

"Speaking of close, the Nova exercise is in a week and we still haven't practice together yet." She reached over and poked him. "I'm going to reserve the training center for us tomorrow. So be ready earn your keep you little trouble maker."

"Ugh…yes Ma'am."

There were several things Peter was really looking forward to being around at West Genetics and he was currently standing side of one.

Throughout the campus were several Holographic training areas at the school of different sizes. Using some heavy tech they were able to make different objects like enemy Pandora, obstacle course, cities, and even Nova.

The one they were currently in was the Nova simulator. The room was a dark gray currently with large pillars throughout the area. Next to him Chiffon was plugging away at a control to set up the chamber.

"There we go."

He watched as a literal city formed before his eyes. It wasn't any place he ever recognized but it still looked and sounded so real. He walked up to one of the structures and put his hand on one of its windows. It felt just like glass. It was so cool.

He wanted to look around some more but his cheek getting pinched cause him to snap back to attention. Whining, he looked over to his Pandora, tapping her foot on the ground with her hand on her hips.

"Peter I've been calling your name. I know your little nerd brain wants to gawk at the room but we're kind of on a time table. I Promise that I'll make time for you later to study your heart out."

It was disappointing but he nodded his head at her.

She smiled at him. "Great, now just like I told you. Focus on the energy from my stigmata in your body. It's going to be hard at first because you never done it before. Just close your eyes and feel it out."

He took a deep breath.

'Focus, feel the power in my body, let the power-...Oh' he paused as he quickly located it 'thought that would be harder'.

He looked back up at Chiffon "alight I'm ready coach".

Chiffon looked rather surprised at him. "Really? That was rather quick". She tilted her head and put a fist under her chin. Pouting slightly she said "I thought this would take you longer. I stayed up and came up with all these ideas on how to help you when you couldn't find it."

"Um…I'm sorry?"

She waved dismissively at him. "No its fine, it's for the best if we can do this quickly anyway. Now I want you to hold onto that power. I'm going to channel my energy as well and we can unleash it at the same time. This will create an Ereinbar Set. There is going to be some feedback though the link, we'll be sharing our minds and senses after all. So don't be worried if you feel over stimulated ok. Are you ready?"

He took a deep breath and squared his shoulders.

"Yes."

She gave him a nod and a bright smile "ok. Get ready to let it out in 3…2…1...".

He inhaled and pulled the energy to the surface.

"EREINBAR SET"

"EREINBAR SET"

It was hard describe it.

It was like for a brief second his entire world narrowed down; the world slowly darkening around him. Then everything exploded outward and overwhelmed him. Everything felt so sharp. Like he'd been living in a world without glasses and was finally given a pair.

He knew that logically nothing had really changed outside of him. But his perception, how he saw and felt the world around, had been flipped all around.

It felt…amazing. Like scratching an itch you could never reach before.

Closing his eyes he focused back on the link between him and Chiffon. He couldn't explain it but he could feel her also focusing on it. It felt kind of like a bridge that connected the two of them.

He began it push his way through the link. He could start to feel her emotions as well. Happiness, excitement and something else he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Empowered he pushed his way further through the link. All of a sudden he started to feel some resistance. Eventually he felt himself passing over a threshold.

The other side of the bridge between them he guessed.

He could feel her senses so clearly now. When he focused it was like he was seeing himself though her eyes. It was like an out of body experience.

He wasn't really sure how to work or even really control his powers yet. So he tried to focus further on the connection. Having an idea, he tried to think about how he located the power inside of him and try and apply it to trying to find Chiffons.

He could feel her with him inside the link. It almost felt like she was helping him ride a bike, keeping both hand at his sides to steady him if he lost his balance. He wasn't sure if she could understand him and his movements. As began to reach out he tried to give his best attempt a mental impression of what he was doing as he was doing it.

He could feel her try and push him back away from what he was doing it. It was too late though because he finally figured out how to sense her power.

It was quite for a fraction of a second before it reached back to-

POWER

That what he felt

It consumed him. It was like opening a door and an ocean rushing out of it, drowning him in its mass. His only reference point was his own tiny bit of energy he had discovered minutes ago. It was nothing, barely a drop in a bucket compared to Chiffon.

She was…Incredible

Just as quick as he felt it, it was gone, as well as everything else. All he could sense now was Chiffons conciseness around him, guiding him.

Felling like he intruded to far he began to pull back on the link. Getting back to the edge of the bridge between them he could feel her emotions again.

The happiness was there as well as the "not exactly happiness" emotion as well. He was curious about it, so he focused on the emotion.

The "not exactly happiness" emotion became stronger as he focused on it. With it, he felt Chiffon's conciseness began to panic along with what felt like embarrassment starting to appear as he pushed harder-

(BONK)

The connection was severed has he felt something slam into his head.

Opening his eyes and rubbing his forehead he looked around him. At his feet was the control box for the room. Picking up the box he turned to look at Chiffon. He was about to snap at her when he finally saw her.

The hand that threw the controller was still outstretched but Chiffon herself was hunched over. The other hand was wrapped around her chest and her legs were bowed out to the side. Her entire face was flushed red as she was breathing heavily.

She glared at him "PETER huff…you…huff…YOU DUMMY".

Worried that he hurt her he began to walk over, which cause her to turn even redder. "STOP, just… just stay over there for a minute and turn around." She growled at him.

He followed her directions and she composed herself and walked over to him.

Her momentary anger gone she looked up to him, a frown on her face. "I'm sorry Peter if I realize that you could figure out how to sense my energy like that I would have pushed you back. I didn't scare you, did I?" she hesitantly asked him.

He laughed.

"Scare me?!" He grabbed her shoulders. "Chiffon you're amazing. You have so much power it's unbelievable. You're so awesome."

Chiffon stood there gapping like a fish has he praised her. She lightly coughed to the sided and puffed up her chest.

"Yes…well, I am the number one Pandora in the second year after all" she boasted out loud.

He laughed at her, happy that she was proud of herself. He handed her back the controller. "So what now" he asked.

"Well now that we have our set established we'll move ahead. I want you to try and cast a freezing field. Focus on the power throughout your body and push it out in front of you. Don't push yourself to hard or to fast because you might end up damaging yourself. If you need some help think of yourself casting a net out and wanting everything inside of it to stop moving. Use your willpower to force things to halt."

He nodded to her and stuck his hand out. He slowly pulled his right hand back, focusing on pooling this new energy as he did. He felt the power inside him began to almost hum and outlined his body in a blue glow.

He shoved his hand forward and shouted out "FREEZING".

A blue wave of energy erupted from his hand in an arc out in front of him. He felt the power he had been summoning leave his body. As the blue wave of power went forward, blue hexagonal line were left in front of him on the ground. The arc eventually stopped but the field was still there though, he could feel that it was draining him of this energy.

The energy pool, well or whatever it was felt odd.

Using it felt more along the lines of a strain on a muscle rather than running and getting tired.

It also seemed like there was more to it maybe? He would have to science the heck out of his new ability to really understand how it worked.

Peter was feeling pretty excited of his accomplishment. He heard clapping and turned his head to look at his Pandora. Chiffon seemed to be just as thrilled at his progress as he was which of course, made Peter feel great.

"Wonderful Peter, not many limiters are able to do it their first try, let alone, make a field so large. In fact, I think we can skip right ahead to the Nova simulation. To cancel the field just focus on pulling your energy back to you and it should just collapse."

He did so, as he did, he noticed that he lost almost an awareness that was gained by his freezing field. He didn't realize it exist until it was gone. He shook his head. He would look into it later.

"Ok I'm going to pull up the Nova in a second. Its freezing field is nothing compared to the dummy systems or the real thing but it will give you a good chance to test your ability on both canceling and overpowering another freezing field." Chiffon told him.

Peter rolled his shoulders as he readied himself again.

He watched her push a button. The simulation room started to glow and a bright flash occurred which cause him to close his eyes. When the light was gone he opened his eyes. A large shadow loomed over the two of them. He slowly raised his head up and saw-

And saw

…!

PAIN-DEATH-RAGE-SUFFERING-FEAR

It was huge. It had a long tan cylinder like body and its head look almost like a whale. Over top of its head was a large blue canopy structure that flayed out behind it like a vale. In its center was a giant red gem.

HURT-CRY-FLEE-HIDE-RUN

The F type Nova.

He slowly backed up. Fear gripped him completely. He faintly heard Chiffon worryingly calling his name. His vision darkened.

"Peter" a voice called him.

He felt his feet buckle fro-

'Peter I…Stay here…Leave'

Peter groaned as he slowly woke up. He looked around where he was. His memory came back to him. He went to move his head and felt a hand on top of it. Looking up he saw his Pandora's face looking down at him. His head was currently in her lap. He started to sit up.

'Well…that happened' he said to himself.

Chiffon rose up to meet him. "Peter" she asked "are you ok?"

He shook his head to get rid of the cobwebs in it. "Ya I'm fine now. Don't really know what came over me".

She spent a good minute staring at him. "I believe that we should stop for today. I believe I pushed you too fast. You should spend more time getting use to you abilities before we go back to this. I'm sorry for that."

"No really it's fine Chiffon. I feel great and I'm ready to get back to the Nova course."

Chiffon however, wasn't buying it. "Peter you fainted when you saw the Nova. I could feel your fear and you don't have to push yourself. We can do it another day,"

Peter waved his arms around "No I'm totally ok. It just…a lot bigger then I remembered." He assured her.

"Also I passed out...not fainted...guy don't faint."

His Pandora ignored that last bit, pausing as she thought about what he said. "You remembered" she asked puzzled by his statement.

'Crap'

"Oh ya the training vids shown at boot camp were very through about the different types. I guess I must have been a little overwhelmed with everything we did ha" he finished lamely.

'There, that's not totally a lie' he thought.

Chiffon walked over and grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the room. "Nope were done today. Now let's go grab some lunch. You can buy me something yummy and tell me how awesome I am while we eat."

He thought about arguing some more but in the end relented. Maybe he could use a rest.

And shove those memories deep down inside.

A few days later Chiffon was drying her hair inside one of the locker rooms in genetics.

Having finished her training for the day, she was waiting for Ticy to come in and leave with her to do some shopping. She had just finished dressing in some casual clothes when another Pandora leaned against the locker beside her.

"Yo Prez, what's up?" asked Arnett McMillan with a smirk.

Turning her head, she looked at the girl. Arnett was at the best of times rather crass, having carried a grudge since the summer carnival of last year, she always like pushing her buttons. Chiffon smiled at her.

"Hello Arnett I'm doing wonderful, how are you doing today"?

She watched has the other girls eye twitched, being off put by her positive response. She snorted as she raised her arms in the air. "Well I'm aright I guess, just got done in the Holo room with my little idiot. He did pretty well, got his field up the first time" she finished fondly.

"That probably because he feared for his life if he didn't get it right for the Mad Dog". Another voice chimed into the conversation.

Arnett turned to look at the two walking up. Attia had a smirk equal to Arnett had. She took amusement in her joke while Cero simply looked board.

Arnett gave Attia a flat look.

"Hey, small fry, the limiters locker room is the next door over. Don't you have some pictures to take?"

A tick mark popped up on Attia head.

"That was a misunderstanding" she gritted through her teeth.

Arnett simply laughed before looking back over to Chiffon.

"Heard you took your little nerd in a few days back to, how'd it go?"

"Hmm, ok I suppose" she answered her.

Arnett raised an eyebrow "ok, that's all you have to say?"

She might have been fishing for an answer but that's how she saw the outcome. Peter was successfully able to both located and utilize the stigmatic energy in his body and created a rather powerful set with her. He was surprisingly and embarrassingly able to reach into her sense and emotions. She wasn't fully used to the feeling either but she had a much greater understanding of its function.

She was worried when he tried to sense her energy and its sheer size over took his awareness. Thankfully, he was more impressed with her strength, then afraid of her power as he probably should have been. Although speaking of fear.

'He was quite terrified of that Nova" she said to herself.

Fear was an emotion that didn't really come to her. She a true Pandora among what might as well be children; no one really posed a threat to her.

However, being connected to Peter when he looked at the Nova was…Intense.

She didn't fully understand where the fear came from but it was something she'd have to deal with. She couldn't afford to have her limiter be too scared to fight in battle.

She'd also have to teach him some manners when entering another person mind.

'Seriously'

She almost collapsed to the ground from the "stimulating" that Peter unknowing provided to her through her emotions. A shiver went up her spine as she remembered what happen. It wasn't uncommon to have reactions with a strong enough partner. Which Peter was whether he realized it or not. But still 'who mixes up happiness with excitement' she moaned to herself.

She would have slapped him if she knew he did on purpose. She would get him back the next time they trained together and she entered his consciousness instead.

April 11, Warehouse Nishi Ward

Hunched over a workbench of equipment, Herman Schultz was working.

He had a few ideas on how to best implement his weapon but in the end, he decided to go with gauntlets. The pair he was currently working on was basic prototypes, good enough for the trial run within the week, but in the long-term not so much. While he was working, Mason approached him.

The man was kinda off. He didn't know how else to describe him. He was smart but there was something more…something almost threating. Schultz wasn't too sure about him but he got everything he needed to build his stuff. He'd let it go for now.

"Hello my dear man is everything going well. Ready for our little debut in the future", Mason joyfully greeted him.

Herman looked up to him, seeing an almost maniacal smile on his face.

'Somethin' definitely wrong with this guy'

"Ya, I'll be good to go. It'll work for now." He reached into his plans for a sheet of paper. Finding it he handed it to the odd man.

"Like I told ya, if I'm gonna make the most of these things, I'm gonna need this suit to help with the recoil. You can get me the stuff I need right", he asked him.

Mason spread his arms out wide. "Of course our supply network is fully subsidized by many different industrial companies". He took the list from him. "Some of this might take longer than others but everything will be provided for you. Of that, I promise you", he finished putting a hand over his heart.

Mason then turned his attention to the other man in the party.

"How about you my fine fellow, is everything proceeding nicely?"

The Tall man with the dreadlocks turned to look at him, a cocky smile on his face.

"Oh, we good, almost as good as the last time ya'll asked me that question." He turned back to his spaceman looking helmet. It was gray with an orange half visor. He pushed a button. The helmet turned white with blue highlighted lines around the edges and sides. The air around it hummed with power.

'That's cool'

"Of course, of course, I'm simply just so excited for our little operation. It might just be a test, but I get the feeling we're going to have some wonderful fun" he finished, giggling to himself.

"I also wanted to pass along that we will be having another friend join us in the next day or so."

Mason started to walk away but quickly turned around.

"Oh, by the way Herman, for the ongoing operations we'll all have little codenames. I was wondering if you decided on yours yet."

Schultz gave the man a dirty look.

"First don't call me "Herman". Second…" he stopped for a second and considered what to call himself. Putting on his gauntlets he powered them on, high pitch whine filled the air as circles of energy moved over them.

They were his

His idea, his machine

Those bastards at Roxxon wanted to take them from him

'Ha, if they could see me now wouldn't they be shocked...wait'

That wasn't too bad

"Second...you can call me-

"The Shocker"

West Genetics Transportation Hub

Peter was currently panicking.

Why you ask.

Because he had just found out his Pandora birthday was tomorrow and since he had no idea about, it he didn't have a gift.

'Crap, crap, crap, hurry, hurry train'

This was a rather larger problem due to the fact he had no idea what to get her. He hadn't been in many situations were he had to worry about birthdays and gifts (See anti-social nerd). The fact that she was a girl made this even worse (see anti-social lonely nerd).

Aunt May was lest then amused at being woken up in the middle of the night to ask for ideas but what choice did he have. Also, she was several thousand miles away so he could worry about her smacking him upside the head later.

He could have just grabbed something on campus, but nothing would have said last minute gift like a t-shirt and mug from the School gift shop.

'Get her something simple, but meaningful. Show that you pay attention to her and her interest. Girls like boys who can take some initiative and not have to be told what to get them' she told him.

This of course wasn't the only thing on his mind. Today was the day of the Nova mock battle. He would be cutting the timing close but he was confident he could go into to the city, get some gifts, and make it back in time for the training.

'Honestly, what the worst that could happen'

Two Hours later

"Rail service is temporally out of order due to an emergency repair. We're sorry for any in connivance this may cause"

'…OH NOOOO'

West Genetics Command Center

"All Nova dummies have been set up and are awaiting activation codes".

"Good" Sister Margaret replied "once all platoons have established their camps we'll alert them to begin the exercise".

The simulation was simple.

Multiple first year platoons would be involved in the simulation. Each platoon would be spearheaded by a top ranking second year Pandora. The platoons would be responsible for destroying two dummy Nova units each. There were however, an uneven amount of platoons, so one of them would fail the exercise.

This exercise would allow the top ranking Pandora in the second year to get valuable leadership experience, while also giving the first year Pandora and Limiters a taste of real combat experience.

Sister Margaret watched as the command center bustled with activity. It wouldn't be long now till the first Platoons took off from the rally zone to be deployed. The Nova that they used didn't pose much of a threat so the threat of casualties was low.

This was the first test of many so it would set the tone for the rest of the year. All she could do was pray that no problems crept up.

Now he was running late.

Having been stuck at the train station in the city, he looked as his watch slowly counted down to the time the simulation began. He had already received a call from Chiffon who was far from amused with his situation. Finally arriving back on campus he bolted to his room.

His phone chimed again. He looked down to read the text.

-WHERE ARE YOU?!-

Yes, Chiffon was very far from amused, judging by the increasingly threating text she sent him.

Making it back to his Room, he quickly pulled out his combat uniform. It was a simple getup. Black boots with blue combat fatigues and white jacket. Over top of the jacket they wore a blue Kevlar vest and black fingerless gloves.

Throwing them on quickly, he ran to the airport.

Chiffon glared at her phone.

"Ticy…am I allowed to strangle my Limiter?"

"Um no, I think that's frowned upon."

"What if I only strangle him a little…that would be ok right?"

Ticy laughed nervously at her friend.

"You're not really going to strangle him…right?"

She scoffed "of course not…but his cheeks are going to be in for the pinching of their life" Chiffon said as she touched her thumb and index finger together.

She could understand why she was upset though. This was a rather important test for her leadership and having your partner not show up looked pretty bad.

"Honestly, what reason could that boy have for going into the city today?!"

Well…

"HER BIRTHDAYS IS TOMMOROW?!" Peter yelled out.

Ticy and Peter were having lunch together and she had brought it up to him, curious to see what he got her.

"Well yes…I thought you knew."

"No I didn't I…I have to get her something" "Wait where are you going" "Into the city took look for stuff" "But, but the Nova exercise is in a few hours" "I'll be there!"

Best not to speak about the part she might have played in this.

A pilot approached them. "It's time for us to get moving".

Chiffon huffed out loud and looked at the other second year girls. "If he manages to show up in time for one of your flights just keep him with you please. Feel free to force him to do anything thing you don't want to. Don't let him out of your sight for too long either. He's a trouble maker."

With that she turned around to talk with her platoon and Ticy left to do the same.

'Good, still one left' Peter though has he ran up to the landing zone.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Chiffon appeared to have already left.

Out of breath he got in line with the other first years. Looking around he noticed the Pandora in charge of this platoon was Marin Maxwell. She had just finished her speech to the group when she noticed him. Giving the order for everyone to pile into the GV-22D she walked over to him.

"Somebody's in Trouble" she said in a sing song voice. "What was so important that you signed your death warrant?" she joked. Peter reached into his pocket and grabbed the rectangular box that held Chiffons gifts inside.

"Her birthday is tomorrow so…"

He heard a high pitch sequel cutting him off.

He looked at Marin and saw her eyes sparkling and had her hands cupped up by her check. "Aw, that so adorable" she cooed to him. "Well that a good enough reason for me for being late, lets hop on in and get this party started." She turned around and fist pumped.

He looked over at Albert Smith, her limiter, watching as the other boy just shrugged and waved him on in.

'Well…that didn't take much explaining. I guess this isn't too bad'.

After they landed and Peter thanked the powers that be for being on the ground again after riding in the plane, they set up camp. For this exercise they linked up with Marin's best friend Ingrid Bernstein's Platoon.

The two of them, their Limiters and himself were all piled into a tent looking over maps of the area. They were discussing the best way to approach the Nova and out maneuver the other, closer, enemy platoons.

'Behold, my powers of basic map reading.'

It was a competition after all so they had to beat the others to the punch.

They still had some time before the teams were sent out. Peter along with the other two Limiters left the tent; Giving Ingrid and Marin some time to talk.

He walked around the campsite for a little bit, seeing if he could help with any of the preparations.

Half an hour later Ingrid moved out with her platoon to go after one of the Nova dummies. The dummies' activation times were random so they weren't all operation at once. This left Marin's platoon on hold till another one popped up. Most of the students decided to rest in the tents on account of the pouring down rain.

Peter wondered how things were going for Chiffons team.

His phone said she didn't even read the texts he sent so she probably didn't know he arrived with Marin.

Hopefully things were going well for her.

"Um Chiffon, that first year Satellizer, has gone missing again" Ticy told her.

Things were not going well for her.

Between Peter not showing up, this stupid rain, and now a disobedient first year…she was quickly reaching the end of her rope.

"Does she not understand team work at all? Her actions defile the good name of the Ticy Platoon".

"She belongs to your platoon though."

Ignoring Ticys' delusions, Chiffon turned to a first year Pandora. "Doesn't she talk to or listen to anyone in your year?" she asked.

The younger girl scratched her head. "I think the only person in my class who ever bothered to talk to her was Peter Parker" she said.

'Of course'

She was about to say something else when she heard a bunch of people cry out in shock. She and Ticy ran over to see what the commotion was all about.

Standing in the middle of the clearing was Satellizer with two broken Nova heads in her hand. She gave Chiffon a flat look.

"I destroyed two of these. That means we're done and I can go to bed now right?"

Chiffons mouth gapped like a fish for several seconds over the turn of events.

"Well…yes but, but that's not the way this works though. Its about teamwork and and..."

'This wasn't how I planned today going at all' she whined.

Memories are funny things.

They take many different forms due to our senses, from remembering a family trip, to the smell of a favorite food. You can remember the sound of a loved one's voice and the feel of a fire you had while camping on vacation.

Memories can also be triggered simply by experiencing something that you might have forgot long ago. Like hearing a song again that you listen to while you were a kid, bringing back better times. Memories can be great things to think over and experience.

Memories can also bring about great horror.

Peter was sitting inside a tent when his body had suddenly frozen still as it remembered something it felt long ago.

His eyes shot open wide as he shakily walk outside his tent, rapidly moving his head trying to locate the source of this feeling. Finding the sensation getting strong as he moved towards the north edge of camp, he stared running.

He was praying, begging and hoping that he was crazy. That it couldn't be happening again and that he would be worrying over nothing. That after they all got back this feeling would be something that he could joke about with everyone.

He had to check, to make sure.

As he got to the top of the hill however, his hope ran out.

Just like all those years ago. Just like when he was a child. One of those things showed up again.

A Nova

His brain brought to his attention that it was an S-Class Nova. Its large blue and white diamond shape body attached with an almost human like torso and head. Its shoulders stuck out almost like shoulder pads and long u shaped arms.

One top of its head was a large cone shape crown. It was huge and couldn't be mistaken for its smaller human maid dummy counterparts.

As he looked down the ridge line he noticed two girls standing and talking to each other. He had no idea how he was the only one to notice the Nova but he started to run to them.

The Nova also picked up their presence as two blades like tentacles' emerged form it shoulders.

He tried to call out to them but his mouth was still locked up in fear, keeping its self-shut to avoid the Nova from hearing him. Peter kept his eyes glued to the Nova as he got closer.

As the Nova got ready to strike with its razor sharp whips, Peter threw everything he had in to sprinting and tackling the two girls to the ground. Barley missing being sliced up.

The girls were confused for only a second as they finally noticed the Nova as well. The both of them looking like Peter felt.

"RUN" he yelled to them as he got up.

The three of them bolted for the tree line to get out of sight. The Nova surprisingly didn't give much chase as it hovered in place before slowly turning to face away from them.

Peter turned to look at the girls.

'At least I'm not the only one terrified out of my mind. We have to do something, anything at all. We need help.'

"Listen we…we have to let Marin and everyone else know what's going on. The... the two of you should hurry and do that."

One of the girls, a short redhead girl with a protein bar crushed to death in her hand, looked at him. "Oh…okay…what will you d…do" She managed to get out.

He shook his head "I...I'll deal with it just GO!" he yelled, panicked, as he ran backing the clearing.

If you were to ask what the fastest thing that Peter could use was, most people would say it was his brain. The amount of complete thoughts and calculations he could do in seconds surprised even him some times.

However if you asked himself, his uncle or his aunt they would tell you it wasn't his brain that moved the fastest.

It was his mouth.

The amount of trouble that his mouth had caused him over the years was ridiculous. Always having to chime in and make a joke and get the last word. Sometimes, his mouth worked in conjunction with his body to do dumb things. While his mind played catch-up.

Take right now for example.

As Peter got into the clearing it fully dawn on him what he had actually said and was doing. He just told two Pandora to go and get help while he, a limiter without his Pandora, stayed to keep the Nova distracted. He had…

No partner

No powers

And clearly no common sense

'I've have made a terrible mistake'

The full gravity of this complete and udder screw up came to full realization as the Nova slowly turned back around to face him, while he stood in the middle of the clearing by himself, pondering over his almost assuredly fatal error.

"Ha ha, I'm in Danger"

Ya I know it's bad. If it feels like it was written by a few different people I'm not surprised. I came back and forth to this story many times. I'm gonna have to redo it a some point. Oh well hopefully everything starts looking up from here. Oh the Tinkerer voice in my head sound like Christoph Waltz...so when you read it, think of him speaking.

I Hope you're all doing ok through this pandemic. I wish you all the best. R/R Delta-144
