DiNozzo's arms windmilled in a desperate attempt to regain his balance. The ledge he was about to fall off of was the only thing that separated him from a long drop with a broken neck at the end of it. In the instant before his balance was completely lost and he fell, something grabbed his back and yanked him back onto solid ground.

"You know, for a guy with an eidetic memory and an IQ of 185, you can be real stupid sometimes." Agent Fornell said, ending a three day adventure that DiNozzo just wanted to forget about as soon as he got home and had a long hot shower.

"How do you know about the eidetic memory thing? It's not in my file." DiNozzo asked as he and Fornell headed back to where Gibbs and the rest of the team were waiting.

"You can't possibly have seen all of those movies you're constantly quoting more than once each." Fornell replied. "You don't have the time for any more than that otherwise you would've been fired for watching movies all day when you were supposed to be working ages ago."

"Yeah, when you put it like that, it makes sense." DiNozzo said.

There was a moment of silence and then DiNozzo asked "Can you do something for me?"

"Yes?" Fornell replied.

"Can you please not tell the others?" DiNozzo asked.

"Why not?" Fornell asked.

"Being smart is sorta McGee's thing, and I don't want to take it away from him." DiNozzo said. "He'd never forgive me."

"That, and they won't let me joke around with them anymore if they realized I wasn't half as dumb as they think I am." DiNozzo added, too low for Fornell to hear over his promise not to tell the others DiNozzo's little secret.
