Author's Note: Sooooo. Uhhh... I'm alive? Hahaha, I guess. *whispers*...after about eight long months with a craptastically short chapter... Soooo... Yeah.

Anyways, you must have noticed the lack of summary, warnings, uhh, disclaimer and all that shiz. Well, after years and years of repeating it in every single chapter I write, I finally decided that it was a bit redundant and therefore shall stop doing so (just the prologue and/or the first chappies from now on) starting today. Hopefully, people will start reading my author notes now because of this. This shiz could really be important you know?

On another note, the reason I updated with such a short chapter and after all those months is because of the fact that when I was checking reviews a couple of days ago (I love them all by the way! Reviews makes me happy and giggly inside), I came across MoonCharm134's review where he/she(? You never know. Though I guess its more likely that this reviewer is a she) where they suggested that I should just make small updates to keep the story rolling... So yeah. Here it is.

"Perhaps it is better to be irresponsible and right, than to be responsible and wrong."
Winston Churchill

Harriet apparated with Dean to the place Castiel specified. As they arrived to the almost secluded and abandoned looking warehouse, they were greeted by a familiar hair-raising sensation.

The ominous air could only mean one thing. A demon.

The older Winchester soon found a bounded-up window. Harriet watched as he crouched down to peek through the wood, and soon followed his lead. It took one glance to find Sam's familiar head, along with a female Harry can't seem to recognize. On the floor lay a man, hopefully just unconscious.

By the looks of things, they seemed to have the best of timing... or not.

Lost in her own thoughts she didn't even realized when Dean decided to storm inside until she heard him slam the door open. Snapping out of it, she ran out to him, in a futile attempt to calm the slowly raging man.

As she arrived at the door, she tried to placate him, "Dean, calm-!"

Dean ignored her as he ripped the door open and faced his little brother with a menacing glare.

"So..." The man clenched his knuckles. "Anything you want to tell me, Sam?" he gritted out. Dean walked forward, intimidating Sam.

...

Sam faltered on his tracks.

Dean just had to show up at the right couldn't be happening, Sam was just about to give up this life of running and hiding.

No matter how much he was getting better at it, what Harry told him a few hours ago still echoed in his mind.

"Its all up to you whether you chose the right path or the wrong. Then again, there's always the neutral path... Just ask yourself if what you're doing is truly worth it."

His eyes unconsciously wondered to the said girl. She didn't seemed as angry as Dean was, understanding even. Somehow Sam unconsciously sucked some courage from that fact.

"Dean, hold on, okay? Just let me-"

"You gonna say, 'let me explain'? You're gonna explain this? How about this?" the man ranted pointing at the Devil's Trap and the knocked out man in Sam's arm respectively. He glanced at the woman with Sam. "Why don't you start with who she is, and what the hell is she doing here?"

Harry gripped Dean's arm physically trying to pull him away from his brother. "Dean! Calm down!" she admonished but the hunter made no move indicating that he heard her but neither did he shove her hand off.

"Damn it, Dean! Listen to me!" Sam cried loudly. He was every bit frustrated with the situation as it is and Dean being difficult is not helping matters.

With his outburst, Dean aquisced and drawn his mouth into a tight line, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently at the ground.

Sam was a bit stuck at how much he felt like a little kid being scolded right now. He shook his head slightly, looking for the words that he wanted to convey, to explain himself to the only living family he has. The problem was, he didn't know how to start.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, he didn't have to.

"Hello Dean, nice to see that you're doing well," Ruby greeted in a way that she almost sounded sincere but with the way she acted earlier, Sam wasn't entirely sure.

A look of dawning filled Dean's face. "Ruby?" he asked incredulously.

Ruby quirked her mouth a little in reponse as the older Winchester looked at Sam for some kind assurance that he was right.

"Is that Ruby?"

Harriet, who had been mostly ignored in the last couple of minutes, scrunched her nose a bit as she muttered, "Who's Ruby?" Shouldn't Dean already know who she was or something? Or...

As if, the demon just realized that the witch was even here in the first place, all of a sudden, Ruby's smile faded and in a blink of an eye, she had Harriet pinned to the wall not far from Dean.

It happened so fast that Dean was suddenly shocked when he lost the comforting warmth of Harry's small hands holding on to him. He looked at the she-demon pinning the girl and felt hot anger rippling on his veins.

Sam, on the other hand found himself horrified with situation. "Ruby! Stop!" Why would she do this?

"Don't you see? She's playing with the both of you!" Ruby ranted with an ugly frown on her face. She glanced at the struggling girl on her hold and she could only feel hatred. This witch is ruining everything she worked for. "You are not as driven as you were before, Sam."

"Let go of her you bitch!" Dean growled, inching his way through her.

"Don't!" the demon practically screetched to the approaching hunter, tightening her hold of the girl as a warning.

Harriet groaned in response, she did however, continued to claw her captors hands which unfortunately was futile to the demon's strength.

Dean stopped his approach in fear of Ruby hurting Harriet.

"She has the both of you under her control! She's a witch after all!" she said forcefully, as if trying to make the brothers see reason. She then looked as Sam in the eye. "She has to go, Sam."

"NO!"

Before Sam knew what he was doing, Ruby was already thrown across the room, as far away from Harriet as possible.

Author's Note: Uhhh... Don't kill me? Obviously, I started reverting from canon already... hahaha... crazy!Ruby anyone? Anyone?

BTW, people have been suggesting that I should just make this a Dean/Harriet fanfic instead? What do you guys think?

Although, if that happens, I have to stress that I'm not that much of a fan of multiple pairings in a fanfic. Except when it involves one character I really like (*cough* Harry *cough*) with multiple other people. The Ron/Hermione thing was just a one time thing and it wasn't really that much of a part of the story.

Tell me what you think? REVIEWS ARE A MUST... uhhh... pretty please?
