Thank you all for waiting for this update! haha! Sorry it took me so long!

I just wanted to thank all of those who voted for this story at the Energize W.I.P awards. I am proud to announce we won the 2nd place in 'The Most Promising Slash Fanfiction'. And we also won 'The Most Promising Over-All Fanfiction'. So thank you for voting! You guys rock! I would not be here if it were not thanks to you! :D

I own nothing but the plot and the OCs.

The weekend after the trial, the Lightwoods and Connor found themselves in Karen´s house ready for a campfire with all the kids and Magnus. They had gone to celebrate the day of the trial at a restaurant. They had eaten all happily and celebrated the fact that Magnus´s bullies were finally being punished for all they had done.

The kids had gotten the idea of doing a campfire as well. It had been a very emotional for everyone and they just needed some together-time as a family. And as it was tradition, they agreed on a campfire.

"Do you guys need anything?" Karen asked from the door that lead to the garden.

"Not at the moment" Magnus called "We'll let you know if we missed something"

"Alright" Karen nodded "If it gets too cold, come back inside"

"We will" The twins called back.

"And if it starts to rain you run back in, alright?" Karen called.

"Yes" The three younger kids called.

"If you need more blankets or pillows they will be in the living room" Karen continued "And if you get hungry, there are left overs on the fridge and-"

"Mom" Magnus smiled at her "We'll be fine"

"I just worry" Karen said. She walked outside and kissed everyone in the forehead, including the Lightwoods and Connor. "Be careful…I'll be just inside"

"Goodnight!" "Thank you!" Everyone called back at her as she closed the backdoor.

Everyone moved to set the whole campfire ready. Jace and Connor worked on getting the fire ready while the rest put up the tents. Magnus helped the little kids while Alec and Izzy put the other and Max and Charlie placed another one. This time they had set up four tents. Jace, Connor and Max would share one. Ethan, Evan, and Nick on the second one. Izzy, Alice, Charlie, and Danni would share the third one. And Magnus and Alec had the last one.

"Are all the tents filled with enough pillows and blankets?" Magnus asked looking around.

"Yes!" Charlie called "They are all ready with extra blankets just in case"

"Good" Magnus nodded "Is the fire ready yet?"

"Almost" Connor called as he blew on the small fire that had lit up in the wood.

"And the food?" Magnus called looking at the twins.

"Ready!" They called, each having their mouth full with chips.

"Stop eating it them" Magnus scowled and they put it away. "Alright….Everything seems to be ready"

"Yay!" Danni and Nick cried happily.

A couple of moments later the fire started cracking and everyone sat around it. The night had set in and the dark sky was clear above them. There was silence around them, except for the sound of the fire cracking and a few cars that went through the highway.

"Would it be alright if I record a video?" Alec asked "I haven't posted anything new and I guess this is the best chance at recording something"

"YES!" All the kids exclaimed

"Can we be in it again?" Alice asked Alec hopefully

"Of course" Alec grinned.

He stood up and moved to get his camera. Meanwhile, Connor took out a guitar and started playing a few notes while everyone ate some marshmallows by the fire.

"Hello! This Alec Lightwood" Alec grinned at the camera as he started recording "And I'm here on a campfire with everyone else! Say hey everyone!"

"Hello!" Everyone smiled and waved at the camera.

Alec went to take a seat next to Magnus and then started focusing the camera on every person around the campfire.

"So we have Jace and Izzy over there" Alec spoke as he focused on the people "Next to them is Connor Bane, Magnus's step-brother"

"Hey" Connor nodded at the camera before turning back to his guitar.

"Then we have Charlie and Max" Alec said and they both waved at the camera "The twins, Ethan and Evan. Then we have Alice, Danni and Nick…hey guys!"

"Hello!" Danni grinned happily at the camera while Nick waved shyly

"And last but definitely not least…Magnus Bane!"

Alec focused the camera on his boyfriend while Magnus smiled at the camera, said a quick hello and waved.

"Nick!" Alec called focusing the camera on the little boy "Why don't you tell everyone why we're here?"

"We are celebrating" Nick spoke with a confident nod

"What are we celebrating?" Alec asked.

"JUSTICE!" The twins cried at the same time

"We are celebrating justice" Alec chuckled and everyone else laughed.

Alec then turned the camera towards him and started speaking directly to the audience.

"Well, we are at Magnus's and the kid's house at the moment" Alec spoke "We are having a campfire in their backyard. It is a family tradition and we were invited to join them today!"

"You are family" Alice spoke as Alec turned the camera back to everyone else.

"Charlie, care to elaborate why this is a tradition?" Alec asked.

"When life sucks, sometimes we just need to remember that no matter what family will always be there for us" Charlie spoke to the camera "This is a way of remembering we are all family and to stop worrying about anything outside, because we've got each other"

The video moved on for a couple more minutes of everyone just joking around and playing games and singing songs around the fire. Finally Alec focused his camera on Magnus, who was sitting next to him and just staring at the fire.

"Hey" Alec told him and Magnus turned to look at him and smiled at the camera.

"Hello!" Magnus grinned at the camera.

"What are you thinking?" Alec smiled "Share it with the world!"

"Oh just contemplating how happy I am at the moment" Magnus said "Life is…life is perfect at the moment"

"Oh yeah?" Alec asked, why is that?"

"I have my family with me" Magnus shrugged "And everyone I care about….seems like a good enough reason to be happy"

"Alright, the fans are forcing me to ask this" Alec said and Magnus looked at the camera curiously "Would you mind telling us what happened this last few weeks?"

"I was beaten half-to-death and had to stay at the hospital for a few days" Magnus explained "I had two broken ribs and a lung fracture…took a long time to heal"

"As you know, I made a video about bullying" Alec said "Anything you would like to add to what I said last time?"

"Well….Yes, but I want to talk to those who are being bullied" Magnus explained and then looked straight at the camera "Hang on. I know it is hard and I know it sucks. None of you deserve being treated poorly because of who you are. Your sexual orientation, your religion, your looks…that is what makes you unique. People dont understand it and that is why they fight it. But you gotta hold on…and more importantly, hold on to those who support you. I know sometimes it feels like you are alone, but there is always someone for you. Your siblings, your parents, your friends….hang unto them because they are the ones who give you strength. They are the ones worth fighting for. They are like angels who were sent to save you…they are just missing their wings"

It is sad that this story has come to an end...but maybe I will write a sequel...we'll see where the future takes me.
