Helena groaned when she woke up and rubbed her stomach. She didn't know how she could be so big at 24 weeks. She was ginormous. She had been at the compound for two weeks and she was surprised at how easily she adapted.

"Marcel." She greeted as he got up from his seat to help her down the stairs.

"Helena. Good morning."

"I'm not an invalid, you know." She informed him haughtily.

Marcel laughed boisterously. "But Klaus would have my head if something happened to you."

She frowned as he led her to a table. "Marcel, I've been curious. Why are you so hostile to the witches? Klaus has an excuse, they threatened his child, but what is your reason?" She spoke cautiously.

Marcel shrugged. "Have you heard how I found Klaus?" She shook her head. "I was being whipped and Klaus saved me. He raised me as his own and eventually turned me. When I took over the quarter, my biggest rule was to never harm children."

"Admirable." Helena mumbled. If only Voldemort had shared that sentiment.

"Thank you." Marcel smiled. "A couple months ago, I catch wind of the witches performing a ceremony and I get there and they're slaughtering these young girls. I was only able to save one, Davina. Everything I do is to protect her."

Helena cocked her head. "Where is this Davina?" She asked.

Marcel laughed. "Can't have that floating around." He quirked his eyebrows flirtatiously and Helena shook her head dropping the subject.

"Marcel, my friend. I see you're getting to better know Helena?" Helena jumped as she heard Klaus' voice behind her.

"Merlin, Klaus!" She placed a hand over her heart.

"Merlin?" Marcel snorted.

"My girl has her quirks." Klaus joked.

After Marcel left, Helena turned to him. "Did you just call me your 'girl'?" She joked.

"You are carrying my heir, sweetheart."

"Doesn't mean I'm yours." She pouted. "And she is just as much my heir as yours." She said thinking of her high blood status.

He leaned in. "Maybe I want you to be mine."

"And what would you do to 'get' me, Klaus?" She leaned in further.

"Well, I'd normally wine and dine you, but it seems I can only do half of that."

"I would like to get out of the compound." Helena suggested hopefully.

"No." Klaus said, suddenly incredibly serious.

"Oh come on! Klaus, please!"

"The compound is safe." He pointed out. Helena pouted and Klaus clenched his jaw. "You won't leave my sight."

Helena practically leaped on him, kissing him in thanks. "Good choice, sir. Thank you." She smiled.

Klaus smiled fondly as he walked through the quarter with a pregnant Helena, who was practically bouncing with excitement for her temporary freedom.

"No frickin' way." Klaus chucked a moment before he realized Helena had taken off and started chatting animately to a child he didn't recognize.

"Helena." He walked up next to her quickly.

"Just a minute, Klaus." She rolled her eyes. "How did you get it here?" She laughed at the boy and she pointed to a stick behind the boys ear.

"My cousin sent it to me after his last Hogsmeade weekend." The boy smiled. "Can I have your autograph?" Klaus' eyes widened.

"Only because you're a fan of Weasey products." She winked and the boy handed her a pen. "No quill?" She teased.

"Not to travel, Miss Potter." She handed him the pen and pad back and he tucked it into his backpack.

"Nice to meet you, Joseph." She smiled as the boy ran back to his waiting mother before she turned to Klaus. "What?" She asked, confused at his curious face.

"Do you often get asked for autographs?"

"Oh, Klaus? What you know about me doesn't even scratch the surface." She wrinkled her nose sweetly.

"You are quite the enigma." He grabbed her and spun her around, causing her to laugh.

"Hey, pregnant ladies don't get thrown around." She swatted his shoulder as he held onto her to ensure her balance.

"That would mean you are a lady." He winked.

"Hey!" Helena feigned outraged. "Technically, I am. Twice over, in fact."

Klaus shook his head. "Every day. One day soon you'll have to sit down and tell me all your secrets."

"What's the fun in that? You'll never be surprised?"

"Love, there's not a single day that will go by that I'm not shocked by something you do."

Helena laughed and kissed him. "Do I make you want to be a better person?" Klaus snorted. "Maybe just a little less maiming?" She hinted.

"Possibly." He hummed. "Come." He wrapped an arm around her waist and guided her over to a restaurant.

"Where is my dear brother?" Rebekah sat across from Helena at the table she had been reading at.

Helena placed her book on the table. "Causing mayhem, I'm sure.

"Well, let's have a ladies lunch."

"Rebekah, I'd love to, but I'm really not feeling up to leaving the compound. Your niece is a terror." She smiled softly and rubbed her stomach.

"Yes, well, what do you expect when you procreate with Nik?"

Helena laughed. "You'd be surprised. I nearly caused my headmistress a heart attack on more than a few occasions in school. I was a real trouble maker." She smiled fondly at her memories.

"My two favorite ladies." Marcel interrupted them.

Rebekah rolled her eyes. "Marcel. What a pleasure." She said sarcastically.

"Oh come on, Rebekah." He smirked.

Helena began to get up, and Rebekah moved to assist her. "Thank you." She smiled. "I'm going to go take a nap while you two flirt. This one," She rubbed her stomach in indication, "kept me up all night."

"Helena!" Klaus called, bursting into her room.

She sat up slowly, curious as to why Klaus was waking her. "Klaus?" She watched him blearily. "What do you-"

"We have to go." He helped her out of bed as Helena protested. "Davina is sick because of the Harvest. We need to get you somewhere safe."

"I'm perfectly fine, Klaus."

"No one will be here in the Compound. And if something does happen…" Klaus trailed off as he crossed the room and grabbed clothes for Helena to change into. "I spoke to Kiernan. I sent the wolves there as well."

"Klaus, you're being-"

"Please, Helena. For me. Just do this." He pleaded.

"Fine." She sighed. "You are just as much of a bother as your daughter." She scowled, causing the hybrid to laugh.

After she was dressed, Klaus handed her a long, warm sweater to combat the winds Davina had conjured. "Klaus." She said as he descended the stairs with her. Helena bit her lip. "I want to help."

"You can help by staying safe." Klaus squeezed her hand. "And keeping our little bit safe."

She was handing water bottles to werewolf refugees when she was approached by Kiernan. "Father." She nodded her head.

"How is your nephew, Teddy?" He looked down to her.

She smiled. "He is well, thank you. Happy to be back at home."

"What are you doing? You… you have two children to take care of and you are hanging out with the Mikaelsons." He inquired, not unkindly, but a tad judgmentally.

Helena rubbed her stomach. "Despite everything, he cares for us." She hesitated. "And the baby…is his responsibility as well."

"What?" The priest hissed.

"I know." She shrugged. "I'll never be okay with…everything Klaus does, but I care for him." She looked at the water bottle she was holding. "And we are tied together now, whether we like it or not."

Kiernan snorted. "You and Klaus make an unusual pair." He shook his head disbelievingly. "What does your family think of him?"

"My friends…are happy that I'm happy." She swallowed.

"And your parents?"

"Are dead. However based on what I've heard about them, they wouldn't have minded too much, they were incredibly accepting people. And we all know worse monsters exist." She said, more to herself than Father Kiernan as she rubbed her stomach. She hoped that, if her parents had ever met Klaus, they would have at least accepted him, even if they couldn't understand. She was sure they would have…it would have been quite hypocritical that they'd be able to accept Remus…again Remus wasn't a killer. But she was. Not to the same extent as Klaus, but she had killed…and even tried to crucio people. Would her parents still love her? Would they still be proud? Would they understand? "Though my godfather would have thrown a kinipshit." She smiled sadly thinking of Sirius.

"I'm sorry."

"It happened a long time ago."

"I'm sorry, I have to…" He nodded his head awkwardly towards the wolves. Helena nodded absently, stuck in memories and fantasies of the past, and Kiernan walked across the room.

She saw a dark haired man watching the wolves from the pews and began to approach him. "Thirsty?" She extended the bottle of water to him.

"Thanks." He took the water from her gently.

"What do you do with the werewolves who…haven't triggered their curse yet?" She asked suddenly, looking into his eyes for any malice.

"I'm Jackson, nice to meet you."

"I'm sorry. I'm Helena."

"They live normal lives." Jackson looked at his hands. "The rest of us are only human during the full moon. Doubly cursed." He smiled ironically.

"What? That's not possible. It's beyond cruel—"

"Well, we're living proof-"

"Who cursed you?"

"Marcel." The man shook his head. "I've heard you're friendly with him."

"I live with his pseudo-son. There's a difference." Helena clenched her jaw. "Do you know anything about the curse?"

"Why do you care?" the man snapped.

"Because I can help. You have no reason to be…cursed more than you are."

'"Why do you care?" He repeated again.

"My uncle was a werewolf. And his son is half-werewolf. When you're raising a half-werewolf, you tend to feel some sort of kinship." She stood up angrily.

"Wait.' he stopped her. "I'm sorry."

"Why would you trust the woman who was close to the sire of the man who cursed you?"

"What?"

Helena shook her head. "Never mind." She laughed. "Just know…I will do everything in my considerable power to undo your curse."

Helena turned on her heel, leaving a baffled alpha werewolf behind her.
