I can handle angst when it's THIS well written. Heartbreaking, yet beautiful.

Beautifully tragic. Entirely gut-wrenching in its simplicity and utter plausibility. So glad you don't write for the show but thrilled you share your talent here!

Mon dieu, mon amie - this was quite the story! I love the unsuspecting end... but I also love these lines that begin the story:

"A soft landing, not a desolate alleyway and a never-ending fall."

"...she's already becoming a liar, without her being conscious of it. She's taking, taking...

And he gives her everything. He gives and gives…"

Overall, I love the power in this one - great emotion.

I like the story. It is sad, yes. But I always liked sad either way.

The only thing that I didn't really like about the story is that it ended. Well, you could, I don't know, make a twist and Beckett remains alive or Maddox doesn't keep his promise when Castle continues to poke around Beckett's mother's case and goes after him. Either way it'd make for a greater story than it already is.

Just an idea. ;)

This was stunning. I don't ever want it to happen but it was still stunning!

Wow. That was dark...I like it. I'm particularly a fan of when she realizes that she can't win, so she just has to decide how much she can lose. I actually think next season will go down a similar path, though it probably won't lead to her death. Nicely done.

It's really really good though! I loved the beginning juxtaposed with the end. It made it all the more heartbreaking. I just wanna cry.

And a fic that evokes so many emotions in so little time is just incredible!

ok, don't be sorry. this is fucking beautiful. this is SUCH a beckett thing to do. i love it, i love it, i love it! (and i'm the queen of fluff, so this is a big thing for me to say). In many ways, i think that this is the true definition of love... being able to lay your life down for the life you care most for, and Beckett is nothing if not self sacrificing.

Okay...that was awesome: the idea, the language, the flow of it, the WAY the thoughts and story unfold...really excellent, right up to the respect and "over here instead" from the assassin. Excellent.

You weren't lying when you said that there weren't any happy endings here. It's beautifully written, though, and a small, angst-loving part of me really likes the idea of Beckett sacrificing herself for Castle's sake.

this was awesome, realistic and my favorite follow-up to the finale so far. Angst makes TV go 'round yo!

And while I do hope Castle suddenly shows or something... this was beautifully written too. I can't say enough about it. Awesome. :D
