Maybe it is not really incomplete. Some things you can only know by living them. At last, after all of, well...whatever that was, we are at the beginning, but also the end. Now Tom and Hermione and Alen have to live the story, they can’t puzzle it out or Pensieve it, or think it through to it’s conclusion. Because no one can just use the power of intellect and imagination, no matter how brilliant or visionary, to live without experiencing the passing of time.

This story is going to live with me for a while. I have a small burning hope it is to be continued, in spite of absolutely no points leading to that conclusion. But I’m also so satisfied that it exists at all and very happy I found it.

RAMBLING ALERT. So, I 've spent the whole night wondering how the story could go, because my obviously restless mind can't accept that there are stories without end. And I came up with this: Hermione improves some of the early inventions of Gurdy, which sends her into his time. Hermione meets young Alen, that's the timeline where she is "the supposed you", they fall in love. He sends her back, forward in time, so she can do her part in saving her friends. She is however killed by Voldemort in the process. So Alen waits for her only to find out she is dead. He then plots how to turn back time, enable her to finish her mission, but at the same time save her so they can be together. Every time, she ends up dead, every trip in time leaves another alternative universe where he had all the time in the world to know her, love her more and still lose her. In his grief, he joins Grindelwald, and creates many alternative dimensions just to work it out, but it seems he cannot control his, Riddle's and Hermione's timeline, because they are bound by destiny. So by the end of his bitter life Alen, now knows as the Old Gurdy realizes that to avoid her death something significant in the storyline should change. Old Gurdy realizes that they cannot have their happily ever after together, because in the only versions he saved Hermione it interfered with Harry's mission, leaving Voldemort with power. So he thought that giving her life, where the trio saves the world and where she grows old with Ron is what she really wants. The trio of villain Voldemort and lovers Alen and Hermione must be changed into villain Alen and lovers Riddle and Hermione to avoid Hermione's inevitable death. Basically, even though their stories are intertwined, Alen decides on erasing his own impact in her life and replacing that with Riddle. Gurdy goes back in time, to meet himself at the point where he has lost Hermione - the young Alen version. He orchesters all the plot we have read. And of course, the trip, the purge of Riddle. Hermione and Riddle fall in love, Alen hates to see that, but that's what's needed for Riddle to save Hermione. That's why the Older Hermione has "forgiven him" - all the meddling with time, for her to experience happiness. Alens plan worked - that's why Older Hermione was alive at that point. He just couldn't create a version where he could grant her longer life ("I know everything up to a certain point in time). But he got Riddle and Hermione involved in the time travel, which means the story can be altered beyond his plotting. I wonder how Alen and Hermione met - my theory was that as 19y.o when he managed to create the first time turner he was hurled in her time. I'm not sure what exactly could anchor the story, but the fact that Alen was so familiar with Hermione's story could indicate that he lived sometime with her in her dimension. He told her that he doesn't know if he is evil - that's because even though he did everything in the name of love, the manipulation of multiple lives, including Hermiones, is evil. But the joy of seeing her alive after experiencing her death is enough for him "-Why are you so happy? -You're here". I love love Alen's character! And this piece of assumptions and theories makes probably no sense, but it proves how much I love this story haha

This must be the best fan fiction I have ever read (13 years of FF here). And every few years I return to this fic just to be lost in the story and then devastated that it's not completed. I'm impressed with development of Tom's arch and I'm in love with Alen. It's not easy to create a new character that fascinating. You have captured Hermione perfectly, and the intrigue, the slow crafting of the worlds and magic and non magic technologies have me impressed. Wherever you are, I hope you keep writing.

Holy Shit. This story is as mind-bendingly good as a Carnivorous Muffin story with none of the existential depression. As the first review of 2020, I agree with the previous ones: if I could choose any HP story to be continued, it would probably be this one.

Of all the thousands upon thousands of unfinished stories I've read over the years, I would want yours to be continued the most. The originality of your premise, the way you describe characters and their thoughts on each other, the plausible potential for redemption you give to Tom Riddle, and the way you let he and Hermione meet across time, these bright minds, is exquisite. Reading your story makes us readers think of the future, the world, and our tiny, tiny place in it. Thanks so much!
