Loved it. Gibbs injury and sudden collapse at the end was surprising. Though yeah...can imagine that happening. Stubborn fool that he is.
Really liked how the team all got together like they did, firat to find Gibbs, then for Tony and then for Gibbs again.

Was a bit surprised Gibbs bounce back that quickly after almost freezing to death- is that normal? Then again, this IS Gibbs. :D

Love the way you described Tony's and Gibbs friendship...that last scene with the running had me laughing. I bet Gibbs purposefully goaded Tony into the bet to get him working harder. It was sweet, the whole scene.

Liked Ziva being a bad-ass, though I did sort of wonder why she got up again after that hit. Not sure whether that's medically accurate. Was a bit surprised that they didn't wear Kevlar vests, tbh. Although, they don't do that normally and they had no idea what they were walking into. Surprised me that Gibbs' gut didn't go off in regards to Berk- then again, the guy snapped after his brother did, I doubt he set out to harm Gibbs and his team initially.

As for Carol and Whitey...happy those two got arrested and hopeful they'll rot. Real pieces of work, those two.

I can't believe I've never read this story before. It was SO GOOD! It had so many things that I want to see it stories but can't write for myself. The chapter that reminded me of the scene in 'Signs' was brilliant - always wanted to see something like that in NCIS.

I like the idea of Tony having something like asthma, since he would quite possibly have the symptoms after getting the plague. That bit with Mcgee getting sick in the car and Tony helping him was great too.

Love your writing, off to check out more stories.

I really loved the convo between Tony and Tim where Tim was sick in this chapter. And how Tony said this...

"No, it's not," he retorted. "I have a tendency to respond to certain situations in the same way my..." he stopped, swallowed as he turned his gaze away for a moment. This was personal information, but he needed Tim to know why he was the way he was, sometimes. "The same way people would respond to me in those situations," he settled on. "I guess ya kinda pick up things, regardless if you ever liked how it felt, and adopt it as your own, because you don't really know any other way to respond..."

That is seriously true, takes practice to change those traits. So I loved that explanation. I think it's great how all the way through you've describes Tony as McGee's mentor, loved it!

I really though the 'sleeping bag' bit with Tony trying to get Gibbs warm quite a few chapters back, was also great!

Lovely story. There were some real trials, what with poisonings, shootings, concussions, and so on, but the team really supported each other.

I particularly enjoyed your take on the Gibbs-DiNozzo dynamic and how they bolstered each other when times were hard.
