This story is gorgeous. Beautiful prose, perfectly constructed, and an absolutely brilliant piece of character study. Whilst it's always been clear that the books are autobiographical, I'd never before stopped to consider the way in which their author might have constructed (or deconstructed) his own character; I find that I rather like the filthy, real-life version you offer. Very clever work.

I liked it until you put the part with the horse it's just to sad for me I couldn't take it is there a way you can make so the horse doesn't have to be killed?

Reading this is like the most beautiful vocabulary lesson. Just gorgeous.

This is perfect. No, seriously, it's perfect. I don't think I can even tell you how much I love this. The story, the language, writing style, and, of course, the idea that the Holmes novels were edited versions of the two men. I just... Everything about this is just fantastic. Perfect characters, perfect events, perfect writing. Perfect. :)

Simply amazing writing.

I'm not entirely sure what to say. I absolutely adore this story. Words cannot begin to explain how much I love it. Although, I also cannot explain just what it is about this story that catches my interest so. I want to say everything, but that seems to vague, and in all accounts it is. There's just not one specific thing I can say, though. I truly love it all: the point-of-view, Holmes, Watson, their bad habits, Watson's writing... just everything. Everything is just so... perfect, achingly so. I'm sure I'm not making much sense, but I don't believe I can. My mind is jumbled after reading this, after all.

Stunning! One of the few 2nd person POVs out there and it's written so fantastically. The idea of Watson being jealous/envious of himself is very original and works so well with your plot line. Very well done!

I'm quite mad at myself because I started reading fanfiction to Sherlock Holmes with yours. How am I to enjoy other ones when I read all of yours?

Again, this wonderful style, the perfect picture of the two as a 'couple' (how dysfunctional this couple might be).

I love the thoughts about writing about oneself, about Watson alienating himself, in some way improving and at the same time reducing.
