I am so glad I read this story.
Great plotting and original characters really enhance every scene. I had a lump in my throat for the reunion and the ending.
You write the guys so well, it was like watching an episode.

An awesome and scary read. I was so glad when Hutch was ready to come to LA and meet Starsky again. And I knew he would volunteer to be bait; but it was still scary, lurking around each corner. I'm glad Starsky and Hutch are back together and I love it that Starsky named his son Ken. Great job!

This was such a well-written story; clever plot, great detail. I don't usually read 'older guys' or 'separated for years' stories. But I'm so glad I didn't bypass this one.

I know you wrote this a long time ago, but I've been on a Starsky and Hutch fic reading binge of late (since Supernatural fic and show has disappointed me terribly) and I had to let you know how wonderful this was. It would make a perfect reunion and light years better than that pathetic attempt at a movie. You kept them true to character and I believed this was how they would be in the future. I loved the additional characters and the case was well thought out and suspenseful. It may be way late, but I wanted to drop a line and let you know that this is now my canon of what happened after the series ended. Thanks for the excellent read!

Can't believe this wonderful story has so few reviews. However although this went on my favourites list ages ago I failed to post a review myself! Having just reread it I am compelled to comment now.
You explained the reason for Hutch leaving so well and the new career you gave him fits perfectly. I loved the reunion scene, my eyes were definitely misty there! And I agree with the previous reviewer about your original characters...they could have easily detracted from the relationship between the guys but actually enhanced the scenes they were in. I could really see the 'new' sophisticated Huggy who lapses back to street-wise Huggy when he sees Hutch. And I love the opening for Hutch to return to the fold.
What a very satisfying read.

I remember reading "Opened Minds" quite a few years ago. I enjoyed it a lot then, and continue to think it's a great story! I also hope that other readers will spot it on and won't accidentally not see it amongst the other stories.

I loved this story! I usually don't read ones that have seperated Starsky and Hutch for years, but when you described how you wrote in four parts and an epilog, I thought I'd give it a go.

I could totally see Hutch pushing away, but I still have a little trouble with Starsky not going harder after him, but you brought it together really well.

The story was very believable and the character interaction was great!

I love stories that follow Starsky and Hutch into the future. You have done an exceptional job. You have such understanding of their personalities and after a long absence have brought them back together in a convincing and loving way. Their families fit right in and I think this begs a sequel. I see that you wrote it in 1995. Thanks for sharing and posting here.
