![]() ![]() ![]() Oddly enough, I don't like this. I rarely say that, but it just feels off. I think I need more context. And frankly, if the four are returning from the hospital where Rory has given birth, I don't see Rory being allowed to carry anything, including the baby in it's car seat. I also don't see Jess making any of these comments really. I get the idea with music, and that he'd recognize the song she's singing (which I can't quite picture Rory doing loudly enough to be heard downstairs). And why take the baby upstairs if this is Lorelai's place? That would be putting the baby in Luke and Lorelai's room, rather than Rory's room off the kitchen. I agree with Jess in terms of what he says about Luke being proud and gloating about the baby. Of course, he'll be excited by any child of Rory's. I also like the idea of Jess and Lorelai resolving their issues. I've been rewatching the show recently, and I'm in season six right now, and seeing Rory and Logan, and even how Lorelai was with Logan makes me want to scream. Logan was truly an ass of a boyfriend. He did pretty much everything wrong. And Rory with him was someone that her younger self would have disliked. It's actually hard to watch, and hard to juxtapose how Lorelai treated each of Rory's three boyfriends from the show. But I'm not feeling this truce. There's a sense that Lorelai realizes that Jess has changed, but it's not enough. She really owes him an apology for how she treated him. She was the adult at the time, and she treated him very poorly, and spoke badly of him to Rory both before, during, and after he dated Rory. Sorry for the rant, but I just can't see this resolving this way. |
