Reviews for The Sum of Their Parts
blackrider11 chapter 10 . 7/11
I haven't read this in YEARS and it still holds up amazingly. You managed to make it a plausable outcome and never have I ever been more conivenced of Dark Lord Harry storyline. Sorry for spelling phone's being wonky.

... Not going to lie, my mouse started to act up and I hit post Review instead of the review box. Apologies.

Anyways, curiousities.

First off: Who was it that tried to betray Harry in the epilogue? I'm assuming it's just a random follower who was recruited at a later point, but if it was one of the core of the group, I'd assume you'd have stated so.

Second, and maybe not that serious: What happened to Luna? I'll admit, I have a soft-spot for her in fanfics and hope she comes out well in most of them. On a similar point but not to that degree, how's Ginny? I'm pretty certain I remember reading a bit where Harry and Ginny decided that they wouldn't work, that the passion wasn't there anymore, but she is still a supporter of Harry.

Third: The Marks. The Harry/Ron/Hermione triangle. The separation issues. The straight up near inability to not sleep in the same bed. Harry still wants a family, of that I have no doubt. He will likely accept he will be the last Potter and his legacy will live through Teddy, but I'm curious if any relationships will survive the mark's bindings if any of the three wanted to have that aspect of a normal life. While Harry/Hermione would be an obvious contender in most fanfics, I honestly can't see that happening in yours. The three of them love the others probably more than they would any significant partners. My second thought was Harry/Susan... but that's unlikely.

Fourth: I really, really want to know what progress has been made in those eight years, but your epilogue is more than enough to satisfy the readers and leave them wanting more. Will Teddy go to Hogwarts, if he does, how will he handle being known as the godson of the Dark Lord Potter? On that note, and to bring a bit of humor into these situations, can you imagine if one day in DADA, Alice Longbottom stops the entire class with "Uncle Harry says that *Such and such spell* is a better shield for this situation." Cause, let's be honest, to the children of the core group, he's going to be known as Uncle Harry. He's going to be that one Uncle that just appears on your birthday, remembered you had a passion for warding, and brought the entire schematic for one of the houses he owned.

And that's about it for my curios. There might be a few more, but they pale in comparison to these.

Hope you're staying safe and your writing and inspirations keep being great,
Green

(Also, while I understand why you can't post more than one review per chapter, I really wish I could at least edit or delete, in the cases like this.)

Holy shit, I like your story. Too often in post-war fics do the authors make the ministry into a lapdog for Harry and that the good in peoples's hearts will shine through. Not in yours though. The ministry and the wizengamot are just centuries upon centuries of complacency and human greed. That person is different? Make it such that you don't have to see them ever again. If you make a profit and you and your family are better off for it? All the better. This is what your ministry is. Nothing more, nothing less.

The idea of Harry as a Dark Lord is ludicrous. He wouldn't be able to hurt a kitten, never mind another human being. Write Harry as becoming unhinged by the Horcrux, or as a victim of long-term child abuse and I could see him as a Dark Lord. But not the book Harry. The most important thing to him is those he calls his family. His heart's desire is to have a family. Would he sell his morals and his soul for them, would he let his name become a terrified whisper, spoken only in the dark of the night? Would he damn himself, would he become a Dark Lord for them? I think the answer is obvious, and your story sold it extremely well.

Now that I've heaped enough praise on your story, time to bring up my curiousities.
Amber chapter 11 . 7/2
This is one of the best dark Harry fanfictions that I have ever read, I was enthralled throughout. The plot was realistic and brilliant, definitely worth reading past midnight
BerserkLittleCook chapter 11 . 6/25
This is great. I would've said more, but it's 3 am and I've been reading this for hours and I'm too tired for proper reviews. Enjoy the story
hitesh90 chapter 11 . 6/17
Thanks for the story. I absolutely loved this story. Its been a while since I read a good Harry Potter story.
JohnnyBlack773 chapter 11 . 6/13
Short and sweet. A fantastic read. I love the Fiendfyre Lord. I liked your 'bond' idea with the dark mark too.
suziq968 chapter 11 . 6/12
This was crazy intense. Considering the crapilogue it's also crazy plausible. Very well done!
Wulfkin17 chapter 11 . 6/8
Binged in a day, fuckin' phenomenal!
Wulfkin17 chapter 7 . 6/7
The amount of peace he's been able to give Ginny is truly astounding when you actually look at the situation she's lived through. It's no wonder even after she met the 'real Harry' that she still worshiped him til 5th year.
ej-83 chapter 11 . 6/3
i hope that teddy is not going to accept hogwarts..since he will be bullied n all..n no one will help him..except maybe flitwick .but the rest..no..so he n the rest should go to other schools..n keep it on the downlow unless someone restarts the racism again..
Guest chapter 11 . 5/30
Too melodramatic for my tastes and I don't even know how the soul bond would really benefit them in the first place, other than those issues the fic was entertaining
Salacommander1 chapter 11 . 5/24
good shit
Verum regnat summum chapter 11 . 5/23
Great story, I absolutely loved it! Always wanted something like this, but its hard to find a good dark lord potter story where he still has his morals. Long enough to be worth the read, and short enough to keep me wanting more.
TarnishedArmour chapter 11 . 5/22
Beautifully done.

Thank you.
