Hey, i don't know if you're still following the MtG storyline but in the latest set, War of the Spark, Nicol Bolas was defeated in pretty much the same way, i.e., lost his planeswalker spark and trapped in the meditation realm

As an avid enthusiast of MTG lore: Yawgmoth was not a Planeswalker. He was a god-like Wizard. The MTGSalvation Wiki would help you with the finer details. You could even look in the Storyline forums.

So Earth, to make a reference to Arthurian Legend, IS the "Once and Future King"... And the Multiverse is the sundered and chaotic aftermath of our universe exploding itself on an existential level, a "Big Bang" of sorts, and Naruto's world was the "second draft" of the Multiverse's attempts to fix itself. And then Naruto managed to twist everything, and start it on the road to recovery, to eventually end up undoing the Shinju, and the Eldrazi, and making Earth all over again, along with the innumerable galaxies, nebulae, and galactic clusters...

I cannot put into words how happy I was to see you had returned. Each chapter of win some lose some is a story I've read multiple times. Being a magic player myself I found special enjoyment i n this story. As always, I eagerly await your next story. No rush though. Take as long as you need to make the next one as good as those that have come before it.

And once more, good to see your stories again.

This was a compelling read, even though I do not know anything about Magic the Gathering it still made me miss most of my college session.

Great story, and yes virtually none of the walkers have a pleasant back story. Venser's isn't horrible, but it's not 'great' either, Karn's and Teferi's are really the calmest out of all that I've read and/or heard of.
You're Naruto card is interesting, but... a hair overpowered. I mean, all three named Eldrazi and their into play from hand effects. My suggestion, and this is only a suggestion, one into play as if from hand, two into play with only one of them coming into play as if from hand, all three with out the into play from hand effect, or a higher loyalty cost (21 minimum).

I think the idea was intriguing and may have much future potential but didn't work for me in this fic. A lot of that maybe because I've never played MTG but I really don't think that was the real issue.

With most crossovers it really doesn't matter much if you don't know a lot about one of the crosses because you can usually follow along ok based on the one you do know and a quick wikipedia lookup will usually give you enough for the one you don't know. I've read other crosses with MTG and had no problem following them even though I've never played the game.

With this one that really wasn't the case. There was no straightforward linear story that was easy to follow. For example I skimmed and after a couple tries didn't even read any of the chapters between when the planeswalkers first met as a group until the fights were all finished. All the flashbacks and even the fights meant nothing to me and there was no story to follow. It was just a sequence of battle scenes with new characters that meant nothing to you unless you were very familiar with MTG. For me at least half or more of the chapters in this fic had no real story to follow. They were just scenes from the game and maybe they meant something if you were a fan of the game but otherwise they didn't have anything to give purpose to a chapter.

The Naruto cross portion of this was miniscule and basically irrelevant. Naruto could have been any character because nothing from his canon character or world actually affected this story. I don't really consider this a crossover or maybe just barely one. Nothing wrong with that except to clarify that this was really an MTG fic with a dash of Naruto sprinkled on in very small amounts.

The MTG-centric nature of this is fine. Even if I didn't know it well that wouldn't keep it from being a good story. The real problem I had trying to read this is that for the most part there was no story to follow. Yes there was an idea and an outline. One story could have been Naruto needing to rebuild the universe and his struggles to do so but that wasn't really told at least not from his pov. Another could have been how the planeswalkers came together and found a purpose. That was also here to a degree but there were so many pov shifts and lack of any real continuity between many of the scenes that again for me at least there wasn't really a story.

There is a huge potential here and a great universe to explore but for me unfortunately it didn't gel here at least.

Umm, huh? I have no fucking clue what this chapter is about. If Naruto is listed first then you'd think the crossover would have a heavy dose of you know Naruto? This start may make complete sense to people whose primary interest is Magic the Gathering but then that should be listed as the first universe in the crossover if this is how it will continue.

My assumption is that this will clear itself up after a chapter or two otherwise while it may be a great story It will not be for me since I won't know wtf is going on just from the content without the background in MTG. I've never played it but have read some fics involving it so I understand a little of it but obviously not enough to have any idea what is going on here. The only reason I'm forcing myself to go through the first few chapters at least is because of how good your other fics are. If it were not for this I would have already dropped this as way to confusing for me to struggle through reading it.

none of your instants or sorceries have colours. you might want to fix that since the only colourless instant or sorcery cards are either tribal eldrazi or can only be cast via suspend (and the latter group explicitly state what colour they are anyway)

Hmmm. I think, yes, that you should delete MOST of the story in "Win Some, Lose Some". Leave a chapter or two, as a sneak peek, I guess.

After all, according to my phone reading app, that one "chapter" accounted for fully one third of a page count. Too much.
