This was such a lovely piece of writing. Since I frankly hate slash, this one is quite possibly the most beautiful friendship one shot out there. Nothing stupid or lame, just plain old loyalty and trust. Loved it!

Yes, we certainly get the impression from TOS that mind melding is a 'big deal' - Spock's interrogation of Valeris in ST:TUC still horrifies me - so I was rather taken aback when Spock unhesitatingly melded with the unconscious Romulan in the 2009 movie.
