Oxford is a bizarre city when you stop to think about it. Internationally famous as a centre of learning and enlightenment and yet its state schools consistently perform below the national average. In modern nights the city is home to a sizeable portion of the countries car manufacturing and yet the stereotypical portrayal of the locality is the well educated, well heeled gentleman, not the working stiff.
