Twelve years ago, Cobalt was sent to destroy a St. George Chapterhouse, and was discovered by a six-year-old girl. Apparently, quick reflexes and panic are a deadly combination, because he knocked her out before he could find a better solution. And he couldn't exactly leave her to wake up and tell everyone that there was an intruder. So he took her with him.

So much had happened in six weeks. Dante had been shot. He had been kidnapped by Cobalt's rogue underground. he had joined the underground. he had destroyed the vessel project. Dante never felt remorse over the Night of Fang and Fire— after all, he only did what was necessary. But when he takes bullet to the back and Cobalt's underground is the one to keep him from dying then and there, he has to re-evaluate his life decisions. Before the end of the world, hopefully. Tristan knows the risk of a battle. That doesn't mean that he accepts that his partner and best friend could die during one. So when it comes down to seeing his partner die, or diverting a dragon's attention and risking death himself, he'll always choose the latter. And when the dragon finds him, and flies straight towards his perch, he does the only thing he can. He jumps.

Set after the fourth book. A short one shot about Garret and Tristan.
