This story was inspired by the 2019 Little Women Movie Reboot. Jo has died giving birth to her and Laurie's son Mason. Laurie readjusts his life to being a single father.

In this short story Beth has survived her painful illness. Amy has accepted Fred Vaughn's proposal and went to his estate in England. For the wedding, she invites her sisters Jo and Beth and her old friend Laurie. Beth meets Fred's brother Frank again and together they'll try to manage a true Happily ever after for sister Jo.

Jo is determined that, on Friedrich's first birthday as her husband, he will have the happiest birthday yet.

Remember how in Part 2, Chapter 40 of The Valley of the Shadow, Beth March dies? Well Jo's friend Laurie turns into a great inventor and creates a device that can turn back time...and maybe even keep Beth from accepting her sad fate.

Aunt March's next words sent that fantasy crashing down, and Amy into a chair right along with it. Her building hopes collapsed around her and her prospects disappeared from between her fingers.
