My expectations: 1) Know your own story. If nothing else, I would like to see a point-form outline or paragraph of your plot. 2) A good grasp of the English language. 3) Respect. I am offering my services and my reputation, and I will be treated like a business partner. Your disrespect towards me is grounds for my refusal to work with you without explanation or further contact. 4) Communication at least once a month. After 30 days I will assume you no longer require my services unless agreed otherwise. 5) I accept credit for my services in an author's note, and I will add a link to your story on my profile. 6) Specify what and where you want me to help you. Instructions to "do whatever I feel like" are too vague and have wasted a lot of time and effort in the past.

I take the English language seriously, perhaps too much. Not to say that I was ever an English major, but I know my way around proper syntax and semantics. Spelling has always been an important issue for me. Also, I make sure that I know and research as much about a topic as necessary; not just to appear intelligent, but to be accurate.

I will help you with your plot and character development as much as possible, but if I begin to think that I am writing the story instead of you, the author, I will inform you of the issue. If I have to say something twice, perhaps it would be better contact a different Beta reader. My responsibility as a Beta reader is to help you improve, not construct your literary foundation.

Fantasy and fictional stories, of course! I include historical and science fiction in this category. Crackfics are okay too.

Any story containing: 1) Gratuitous sexual content (including but not limited to homosexuality, unrealistic depictions in a realistic environment, incest, bestiality, glorified rape) 2) Gratuitous violence (over a T-rating that does not involve war)
